Your Ovechkin hatred on display again. Yes, 3 players had more points than he did. A whopping 6 whole points at the most. He had 10 more goals than the 2nd place finisher. Do you really believe 6 points of any type are more impressive than 10 goals?

Explain h.sedin over both crosby and ovechkin in 2010

Ovechkin didn't win because the games he missed were due to suspensions for illegal hits.
Crosby tied Stamkos for the Rocket and tied Ovechkin in points despite playing more games.

Any of the 3 were very deserving IMO.

Big contradiction on your part. You say having 10 more goals is better than 6 more points. Crosby had 22 more goals and only 3 less points in 2010 and still lost. So which is it?

I think you are overexaming now. HSedin was the art ross winner on a division winning team and outscored his next highest teammate by 27pts, that in itself is enough for him to deserve the hart on paper. The rocket race was close and ended in a tie.

Where is Benn? Wasnt he good enough in the juniors or what? See no good reason why the actually scoring winner should not atleast be nomined. Plus this is a forward price, so Price should not be a nomine.

Benn
Ovechkin
Crosby

The Art Ross race points were low and Benn didn't make the playoffs. Not hard to figure out. Having the most goals, or most assists, or even most points doesn't mean you were the MVP of the league.

Benn wasn't even the best offensive player on his team, or at minimum arguably. AND his team didn't make the playoffs. Those 2 together eliminate him from any Hart chance imo. Similar for Crosby, his team made the playoffs on the last day, his team wasn't good enough for him to get hart consideration, for better or worse. When Ovy wins the Richard by the gap he did and Price wins the vezina by the gap he does, they are locks. Tavares was #3 because he was runner up for the ross by 1pt, his team was a middle tier playoff team, and he outscored the next highest person on his team by 35pts. That combo got tavares there easily, but it's a 2 man race anyway imo, so I don't get why everyone is complaining about the 3rd person on the ballot(tavares).

Think it will be close b/w Price and OV. Price likely wins, OV 2nd, Tavares distant third.

Some years this is hard to predict, these 3 guys were predicted like a month ago.

His team not making the playoffs automatically disqualifies him. He was just padding his stats in the last 5 games.

Eh, hockey is a team sport. Put Ovechkin or Price on the Sabres and they still miss the playoffs. It wouldn't make Ovechkin any less valuable individually because he would quite literally be the same exact player.

IMO people mix team accomplishments with individual player assessments too much.

This post exemplifies why the Hart voting is all over the place.

The Stars are not the Sabres. A lot of people picked the Stars to make the playoffs at the beginning of the year, myself included. They made the playoffs last year.

The least impressive Art Ross winner in decades should not get a Hart nomination for winning the Ross alone, no. Funnily enough, I can't remember the last time an Art Ross winner got snubbed for a Hart nomination, but I mean, the last game of the season was a perfect example of why Tavares is worth more to his team. Benn was on the ice constantly trying hard to win the Art Ross in the final few minutes, and got a lucky assist to win it. Tavares was on the ice to try to win the game, and got a shootout goal, not worried about winning the Art Ross.

TLDR; u mad bro?

MSL wasn't a finalist for the Hart in 2013 despite winning the Art Ross.

Tough to nominate someone for MVP whose team didn't make the playoffs

Why does it have to be a forward prize? They already have the Art Ross (lets not kid ourselves that a defenceman is going to win it in forseeable future) and the Rocket Richard trophy.

I dont want Price to win it, its not fair to the other goalies who have suffered a strong anti-bias becaus of their position during many generations. The goalies who got a hart did it by seperating themselfs by an incredible margin. Price will only suffer from this, he will only be misjudged in the future.

Meh...who cares? If you were building a team, would you build it around ovechkin or backstrom? Many people would pick backstrom (especially anyone who watched the caps-isles series).

Give me potentially the greatest goal scorer of all time over a top 10ish present day center. Not a hard choice.

Price will suffer for this? How exactly? That's just completely absurd claim. There is no way an NHL pro will suffer from winning the most prestigious award in the league.

Don't you realize how stupid that sounds?

Price, Tavares, Ovechkin

I am surprised at the amount of distant third votes for Tavares. He scored what, 35 more points than the next highest player on his team? Started the season coming off an injury with Cory Conacher on his wing?

Personally think it would be a toss-up for 2nd place between the forwards.
