to MTL:
Cam Fowler + 2nd

To ANA:
Plekanec
Emelin
Desharnais/Beaulieu.

Habs would get the top 2 D they require as well as clearing cap space for possible signing of Shipachev.
Ducks get established 2C plus top 4D plus 3C/young established D.

The cap numbers work well for both teams.

When did we start calling the Habs "both teams" ? This is not what Anaheim is looking for at all, and that's putting it as politely as possible.

I would imagine Kesler is the 2C over Pleks. Lots of salary going back at the ducks. Doubt this has much legs.

Beaulieu >>> Desharnais.

The deal with DD is a steal for the Habs. The deal with Beaulieu is closer.

And this helps Ducks to sign Lindholm how exactly? Also internal cap would get totally destroyed by this.

You think the cap works for both teams when Habs take on 4M and dump >12 on the Ducks?

Habs cannot trade Plekanec. He plays all the hard minutes for them. And the Ducks don't needs him since they have Kesler in the same role. Fowler to MTL make sense but you have to look at something else for this to work.

Fowler to Montreal is the only direction it makes sense. The assets that Anaheim would want from Montreal are the ones you wouldn't want to move.

He would be one of the 7 D on the roster, not the 7th on the depth chart.

Even better. So we have one of Stoner, Bieksa, Despres, or Emelin as our 7th defenseman. Either way, it doesn't work. Anaheim wants to move at least one of those first three defensemen. They don't want to add another overpaid depth player.

You're sending far too much salary Anaheim's way, and the big piece (Plekanec) is redundant. The Ducks don't need an established 2C. They have Ryan Kesler. Not that Plekanec wouldn't be a nice addition, but it's still an unnecessary piece.

You didn't consider Anaheim's needs at all in this deal. Like, at all. You're giving us a defenseman we don't need, and a center we don't need(but who would be a nice luxury).

Fowler would be a nice addition to the deffence in Montreal and he could play with Weber, but I don't think that Anaheim want the salary of Emelin, Plekanec and Desharnais.
Also Anaheim alredy have a 2c in Kesler.
If Montreal trade Plekanec, Montreal will have a big hole in the second line. To trade Plekanec, habs should sign Shipachev or add a top 6 center first.
