There was just a little bit of sarcasm in my post... just a little bit.

The playoff spot is necessarily deserved if the same rules apply to every team.
It's an issue if some of the trash teams move up a round or 2 or even further. How will that affect the lottery? It would be a miscarriage of good sense if they got to an actual 7 game round and kept their initial lottery pick.
I don't like it regardless.
Watch the Sens and Sharks both win and Ottawa picks out of the top 10 with both picksBring on the Sabres!
"Once you make the playoffs because of a virus, anything can happen".
You mean finish a day before the start of the new season.NBA is saying the best case scenario is a mid to late June start. If the NHL goes ahead with the playoffs, there is no way they can allow 24 teams in if they want to finish before August.
I see you took a few seminars at the Marc Bergevin School of Highly Unrealistic Optimism.I legit laughed out loud at this.
NHL starts up again in June. Montreal is healed. Price is rested. Tatar & Mete are back. We ride Price and our season opening energy all the way to the Stanley Cup!

May Headline: Bergevin Led Habs Make 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
July Headline: Habs win 25th Stanley Cup, Bergevin becomes first ever GM to win the Conn Smythe.
HF Explodes.
And "driiiiiiiiiiiiing driiiiiiiiiiiiing" you wake up.
The best case scenario is that the Habs both win the Stanley Cup and the draft lottery.
If you made a poll in this section with 2 options:
Option 1: Habs win both Stanley Cup and draft Lottery in 2020, and extend Bergevin 5 more years
Option 2: Habs win neither, and fire Bergevin
I'd guess option 2 wins with at least ~80% of the vote. What do you think?

In all reality they have already talked about the new season starting on time, hopefully. Don't see how they can have the playoffs even at this point. It's over folks. 20-21 season probably won't even start in time..
Neither are plausible unfortunatelyIf you made a poll in this section with 2 options:

That's right, and you could always fire him sooner than later.Sometimes I have the feeling that some fans don't even want to win. They'd rather lose for years and years and stockpile high picks. And that's not always a surefire recipe.
The Cup AND Lafrenière? I mean, you have #25 for sure, and a franchise player to build around. I'd take that and endure Bergevin for a few more years.
Not so sure about a Cup for sure...............The Oilers have had a ton of #1 picks, and nothing.............yet.Sometimes I have the feeling that some fans don't even want to win. They'd rather lose for years and years and stockpile high picks. And that's not always a surefire recipe.
