The playoff spot is necessarily deserved if the same rules apply to every team.

It's an issue if some of the trash teams move up a round or 2 or even further. How will that affect the lottery? It would be a miscarriage of good sense if they got to an actual 7 game round and kept their initial lottery pick.

I don't like it regardless.

If they can win 3 games, then they deserve to go to game 7.

Watch the Sens and Sharks both win and Ottawa picks out of the top 10 with both picks

NBA is saying the best case scenario is a mid to late June start. If the NHL goes ahead with the playoffs, there is no way they can allow 24 teams in if they want to finish before August.
You mean finish a day before the start of the new season.:sarcasm:

The best case scenario is that the Habs both win the Stanley Cup and the draft lottery.

If you made a poll in this section with 2 options:

Option 1: Habs win both Stanley Cup and draft Lottery in 2020, and extend Bergevin 5 more years

Option 2: Habs win neither, and fire Bergevin

I'd guess option 2 wins with at least ~80% of the vote. What do you think?

I think that option #1 would win with a very large majority.

Option 1. Hate for Bergevin does not trump a cup and a draft lottery win.

Option 1 wins easily. I hate MB with a passion and would vote 1.

Sometimes I have the feeling that some fans don't even want to win. They'd rather lose for years and years and stockpile high picks. And that's not always a surefire recipe.

The Cup AND Lafrenière? I mean, you have #25 for sure, and a franchise player to build around. I'd take that and endure Bergevin for a few more years.

Not so sure about a Cup for sure...............The Oilers have had a ton of #1 picks, and nothing.............yet.
