Congrats on your first win, Coach Ducharme. According to many the Habs outplayed Winnipeg too. So trending in the right direction? Didn't see the game but may have to watch the replay if KK was on his game.

The Sens beat the Flames 6-1 the night before.............have we learned anything this season, is that anyone can beat anyone...the standings mean nothing once the puck is dropped.
Habs needed to start somewhere for their new coach, they have actually played two good games in a row for DD.
Let me rephrase then. Habs beat a team coming off a game the night before and faced a guy starting his 3rd career NHL game. Needed the win and got it

Yes...I also watch all games and Armia and his offensive disappearing act is getting old.
Armia was good in offense yesterday? Think he was very strong in corners getting space for KK. Suzuki misses and needs that too. Toffoli cant offer neither Anderson.

He has bad tunnel vision. He works for the puck and is great at retrieving it but other than keeping plays alive, he doesn’t offer much offensive creativity. Great 3rd liner but KK needs to play with 2nd liners.

Or at the very least keep those two together and put Drouin on the LW.

Habs are missing players who would suit KK better. With Gally it would be disaster, think he needs Armia.

Toffoli is much better with the puck and is more sneaky. Pacioretty was faster but was north south and when he stopped driving to the net, he became very one dimensional

Yes that is my impression as well. I fail to understand the comparison by the person who originally made the claim that Toffoli is the new Paciorety.

So one game is how you judge players...well done. Add that to your cherry picking fallacies category.

On the year danault is 51.3 percent to evans 50 percent. Not including how often phil gets tossed from the circle. Phil takes 20 faceoffs a game to evans less than 10 which means every 5 games danualt wins one extra faceoff..the horror!

Rookie vs prime 30 million isnt enough nhler.

Btw 99 wasn't even 50 percent on the draw, prob should have been a winger right.
In fairness you look at critical draws in our zone and it's Danault winning those more than others. And those are the ones that count.

Yeah, it was a back up goalie and the Sens but honestly those are the games we usually lose. A guy with family from Montreal looking for something to prove and the Sens in general give us fits all the time.

Wasn't an exciting game, but I don't care.

KK, Edmundson, Romanov, and Price all had great games I thought.
You thought Price had a "great" game? LOL

He's been playing hard all year. The difference tonight was he got a lot of time on the PP and showed what he can do. I don't care what people say but the kid has hockey sense and vision. You can't see the play and make passes like that with low hockey IQ.
His problem is his wingers can't finish. We need Anderson back in a bad way.
Last night he played very well. There has been a few games this year where he flashes. But to be honest most games he doesn show these skills. You can only blame teamates so much.

They are looking much better especially on the PP.

Some improvements:

Actually passing the puck in offensive zone and creating cycling & movement instead of the constant pass to D who shoots - end offensive shift. It led to some lengthy shifts in Sens end in 3rd. That's the way to do it!

KK seems to have been given the reigns to the PP. He looked great at it. Faceoff wins & deft passing. PP, overall, looked great.

Excellent tonight: KK, Drouin, Edmundson & Romanov.

Good: Toffoli, Price, Lehkonen, Byron, Evans, Petry, Weber

OK: Danault, Chiarot, Armia, Suzuki, Gallagher (even if he did score)

Played: Tatar, Kulak, Perry

A much needed 2 points! :highclap:

Jets next 2 games.
KK was poor on the draw but played well. Maybe best game of the year. Vision and passing....

Perry with the pass of the game to Gally. Perry is a great addition to the PP. They need to use him more at edge of crease. One of the few Habs with balls.

Toffoli is a lot like Alexander Semin, with lesser natural abilities but somewhat better physicality.

It didnt look like Ottawa was ready like they usually are.

Price? No real tough saves and three posts. Pretty easy game for him with a lot of luck.

KK with his best game of the year. Those passes.....

Perry continues to be the most underrated pickup of the offseason. Love what he brings to the team.

Ottawa were no where near as dynamic as they were against Calgary. The condensed schedule and B to B will do that. How many players you can have going at the same time will be key closing out the regular season. We won a game were supposed to win on to the next.

Really?

Defensive zone faceoff % this season:

Evans 53.7%
Suzuki 50.5%
Danault 49%
KK 48.5%
