Camavinga should be in the running based on talent alone but no one watches the Skip The Dishes Farmers League and he didn't play at all in Europe so there's zero chance he gets many votes.

Should be Camavinga. But will be Haaland.
Camavinga is truly amazing, but you can make a great argument that currently nobody has been better than Haaland.

Haaland will win. Goals are sexy.
I agree that majority of the time, player "x" wins it over player "y" because "x" is a striker. However, I argue for the fact that this year the best player just so happens to be a striker. Nothing against Camavinga or Davies either, both are extremely good players in their own right.

Out of curiosity does anyone know when the last time a 19 year old won a treble in the big 5 leagues, including the CL, as a key/star member of the team was?

This isn’t really a competition. Håland is a phenomenon. The only young player on his level right now is Mbappe.

I have made a table based on "card stats" from Transfermarkt. I would say that they prove that Håland now is comparable to Mbappe. Mbappe had a much earlier maturation than Håland. But as of last season (2019/2020) Håland is performing at the same rate as Mbappe is, so while Mbappe is a more established talent than Håland, Håland is by the look of it now as good as Mbappe is.

Now what is really exciting is that Mbappe is a 98 while Håland is a 00, so Håland is lagging behind two years. Håland was 19/20 years old last season, and scored 1,77 points per 90 minutes, which is just bizzarely good (to compare Messi averaged 1,83 in the now legendary 11/12 season when he scored 106 points), meanwhile Mbappe at the same age scored 1,44 points per game, which is also absolutely elite, but Håland was actually better as a 19/20 year old than Mbappe was.

So people that still not appreciate Håland, you will be proven wrong. Håland is just a phenomenal player, and along with Mbappe, he will probably be the big poster boy of football, much like Messi and Ronaldo have been. There are of course factors that can disrupt this trajectory, injuries for instance. But I give Håland one more season in Dortmund just to ensure everybody he is just as good as stats suggests, and then he will move to one of the absolute elite clubs, and from there a legendary career will commence.

Has to be Davies, for his accomplishments alone, and when was the last time there was a 19 year old who was considered one of the best if not the best in his position? Yeah it hasn’t been exactly the most common position to provide superstar level players, but Davies absolutely is one.

That's faulty logic. The position is weak so Davies wins? It's Haaland.

No, that clearly wasn’t the logic there, and it’s absolutely Davies this year, he was the best young player in the world this season, thats why.

I haven't seen your list.
Fati wouldn’t be 2nd that’s for sure. It’s Haaland/Sancho in any order then Davies rest are whatever since it’s a trophy and only the top really matters. I’d have Camavinga and Tonali probably rounding out the top 5 though with the English (read PL) future along with Torres in some order then Fati I’d include with the rest. Some of this is based on me some of this is based on voters. Basically in my opinion I might not have all of the PL future there but knowing the voters and the bias on the PL they’ll be high in voting.

Scoring a goal per game as a teenager is a historic feat. I get that people are excited for Davies but there are other players out their doing more.

I just find it hard how a kid who hasn’t played a lot of senior football is ranked higher than a guy that has 20+ goals and assists last year.

Pretty crazy to me as well... Fati right now is on fire and if he continues it will be his trophy to lose but at this point, you cant have him over Sancho just yet.
