Sounds weird to say but the Canucks are a different team with Soucy in the lineup.
He is an important piece. He's actually good at defending.

Guys like Zadorov and Myers are what they are. If you have to elevate them above a 5D role, it's not going to go well.

First consecutive losses since November 18. Not too bad.
Yep. They were bound to lose some games. It happens.

At 3-1 going into the third, yeah, you should probably lock it down. Some games the PDO gods aren't going bless you anymore. That's hockey.

SCF 20-11 in Canucks favor at ES
HDCF was 9-5 in Canucks favor at ES

Overall it was 35-20 in SCF and 17-8 and HDCF (12-2 in 3rd period yet Canucks were outscored 2-0)

Canucks deserved the win but unfortunately Desmith didn't make any key stops.

ahh yess the other idiotic part of the NHL the B2B. At least Wash is in the same boat im ok with it in that context if it gets the road trip done.

Disservice to the fans though
The Canucks have the most favourable B2B schedule in the league. They play twice as many teams on the backend of a road B2B (so Canucks at home waiting), vs. them playing a tired game on the road against a rested opponent.

No excuses here.

Yes thanks for the context. I wasn't intending to make excuses just think it's a ridiculous ask and the potential of a stinker game plus injuries are more prevalent in B2B's.

Pretty sad for people who pay 500$ for 2 tickets and then get a team trying to "play a good road game" which is basically a way of saying we trapped the ice and waited for PPs and mistakes because we aren't gonna have the legs to set the pace.

I'm ok with it in the context of both teams on a B2B but absolutely am not when one is and the other is not. Lactic acid and physical advantage

To be fair, we’ve won more than our fair share of games where these number were reversed. As much as we meme about PDO there’s some truth to it

Wondering if Zadorov is getting a hearing. Zad getting a suspension is the last thing we need. Good to see that Raymond is okay.

Every team go through ups and down… the Canucks are clearly going through it right now. Need to clean up some sloppy play and hopefully bounce back against the Caps. The Caps just shut out the Bruins today 3-0, so on the bright side the Canucks are back in first in the league, lol!

Sucks to lose on such a soft call but it never shoulda gone to OT in the first place.

Decent effort though. Carried the play for the most part and the new lines look pretty good.

Let's be objective here.....the last three opponents have a better than .600 winning percentage, and are in semi-desperation mode, trying to bank as many points as they can.

So I guess being 1-1-1 against Carolina, Boston and Detroit isn't so bad. But the Canucks are suffering from crucial breakdowns a key points in the game, and are giving up a lot of early goals.

But I have faith in Tocchet. He'll get them re-focused at a string of intense practices once they get back from this road-trip.

The allstar break always messes up a team. Players go on vacation, drink a lot, come back with some bad and lazy habits. It will take a week or two to get them back on track.
