The scoreboard said it was 3-2, but really it was at least a 6-2 game. A team simply can't rely on surrendering as many gold-plated chances as they do and hope for an impossible save from their goaltender, and expect to win.

This might have been the worst game in a Canuck uniform for J.T. Miller. His turnovers at the offensive blueline led directly to the two-on-ones that made it 2-0. If this is what they can expect from Miller going forward, then that contract might end up being worse than OEL and Eriksson combined.

If a guy who is soon to be one of your highest paid players isn't really expected to play defense, then what does that say about the state of the universe? And was Boeser even in the lineup? I know he's slow, but right now he'd have trouble keeping up in the AHL.

Canucks are now seven points adrift of a playoff spot and that's where they're fated to finish. This team simply can't win the 9-10 games in a row to climb back in it.

Watch us win the *LAST* 9-10 games to fall just outside of the playoffs. It's the Canucks way.:(

That’s the thing, the team can look decent for a couple of games but then they completely shit the bed the next few games.

Bright spots for me -

Spencer Martin. One of his best games in a Canucks’ jersey, IMO. He’s had games he’s won where he’s looked all over the place, but I thought he looked a lot more in control of himself.

Thought Will Lockwood had a really solid debut. Made some nice defensive plays, a couple of big hits, and got promoted to skating with Horvat.

Sheldon Dries had a nice game. Really nice goal, and had a good chance for another that forced Markstrom to make a nice save.

Garland had a lot of jump tonight, too. Looked like the Garland of last year. Thought he got robbed of an assist on Dries’ goal.

Petey looked dangerous as usual.

On the plus side..if they lose the next few then there will be absolutely no doubt that they will be sellers at the TDL..

Christ almighty, below .500 again
And to put that into perspective…10 teams in a 32 team league are below 0.500. Yesterday it was 7 teams as some others ducked under the last couple of nights.

I saw a lot of posts about the flames not being much better. The Flames while struggling will still finish 15 points north of the Canucks this year, perhaps more. Their struggles have been in maintaining the lead. They’ve blown 12 or something, Sutter teams don’t do that for long. Once that gets sorted they will pick up a lot of points.

Said it after our last win, but our next 12 games (10 now) are going to be brutal. Was thinking 3 wins max, but wouldn't be surprised if we go on a pretty big losing streak here. Got the Isles coming up who look good this year and have probably the leading Vezina candidate in Sorokin, the Avs who are starting to get healthy again as MacKinnon returned today and they got some others who will probably be back by the time we play them, the Jets who have dominated us the last 2 times we've played them, the Pens who have gotten their shit together since the last time we played them and will probably be looking for revenge, the Lightning who have gotten their shit together as well and are chasing the Leafs and Bruins in the standings, the Panthers who are on the outside of the playoff picture looking in but that's due to their schedule more than anything and won't let free points get away from them, the Hurricanes who are an absolute wagon right now and are on a 10 game winning streak, the Lightning and the Avs again, and then the Oilers. It lightens up a little bit as 2/3 of the games after this brutal stretch are against the Blackhawks and Blue Jackets, but then it picks right back up. By the end of this 12 game stretch we're in, we might be 29th in the league in standings with the Blue Jackets/Ducks/Blackhawks being the only teams behind us.

Could this franchise be more disjointed top to bottom.

Owner is a meddling trust funder that wants buts in seats and instant gratification over any coherent plan that might take 5-6yrs. I don't think anyone cares about this guy and playing for the jersey has become a laughing stock.

Past Manager finished last on smarter than a 5th grader and still has no idea how a salary cap structure works nor the value of cap space and the new one has no clue about the dynamics that obviously plague this team and room. Coach was thrown disgustingly under the bus by President

Boeser and Miller are frauds. These 2 care more about their golf games than showing a work ethic that sets any kind of tone. Both took the money and said fuk you to this fanbase and franchise to date. It's actually disgusting and embarrassing. Pretty sad when a theme of altercations and lazy plays are thrust into the media from the hypocrite #9. Frankly as he said he doesn't care what others think....seems like a recipe for a healthy team and family?

We're bad on defense and soft in the battle. Nobody backs each other up and the top payed players just don't get it done when the heat ramps up. Were set up poorly because everyone has to play above their abilities to beat good teams. Mostly we don't and we're getting cap squeezed because we can score in the run of play or on PPs and then these losers cash in.

Miller and Petey used to be a thing and was good enough to make this team dangerous with Bo running the 2nd line....haven't played together in years now.....obviously they hate each other or Bruce is as stubborn and bad as Willie D. Which just adds to this whole running narrative about Horvat finally saying see ya later and reports in the media about how bad it would be to lose Schenn and Horvat.

Just a mish mash of talent without direction and cohesion and shit defense lacking systems and sieve goaltending. Nobody trains hard and were rarely able to play 60min because you are what you train to be and in our case that's skinny and weak or slow old and fat. Thought the new regime would bring a different standard but without buy in who cares. Sedins Kesler Burrows Bieksa must puke watching this team

This team is hell. Praying for changes

Happy New Years Gang hope 23 is better as a Canuck fan the last few has been crushing
