:edmonton announce 2 free agent signings:

Olli Jokinen: 1-year pact worth $1,500,000.
Thomas Greiss: 2-year pact worth $1,400,000.

With that, our roster is set heading into the 2013-2014 campaign.

[FIELDSET="Your Edmonton Oilers..."]

Taylor Hall - Sam Gagner - Troy Brouwer
Brian Boyle - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins - Jordan Eberle
Magnus Paajarvi - Olli Jokinen - Nail Yakupov
Ryan Smyth - Nate Thompson - Mike Brown

Eric Brewer - Justin Schultz
Ladislav Smid - Jeff Petry
Nick Schultz - Seth Jones

Devan Dubnyk
Thomas Greiss

SCRATCHES: Chris Kreider, Corey Potter, Mark Fistric

[/FIELDSET]

Plenty of new faces in there. We did a major overhaul of the team in an effort to get bigger and harder to play against. Very happy with the team going forward.

Best Move: I liked the Tampa deal to acquire Brewer and Thompson. Just thought it covered the most bases in terms of adding grit, leadership, a Top-4 defenseman, and a solid bottom-6 center. Also, lucking into Seth Jones was huge.

Worst Move: I kinda regret the Horcoff deal the moment I made it. Shawn's been on fire since returning from a broken knuckle scoring 3 goals in 4 games. His 2-way presence has ignited the Hall - Horcoff - Hemsky line. Probably wouldn't make the same deal again.

Sorry folks. I just started a new job and worked late last night, came home and immediately went to bed as I had to work at 6:00am this morning.

Multiple teams interested in Semin and Bozak. PM me your absolute best offers for these players, and they will sign by 6:00pm tonight.

Best move: Picking up Joe Thornton. The Ducks really needed a #2 C or in this case a #1B C to help their playoff chances.

Worst move : .......... The infamous Vincent Lecavalier trade .

Worst move that wasn't vetoed: The Gonchar deal. I gave up too much in my opinion/ didn't get enough back in exchange for what ended up being a rental.

Oh yeah. Added Derek Roy to the big club, and Tomas Tatar, Rickard Rackell, Frederik Gauthier, Landon Ferraro and Calle Andersson to an already impressive group of prospects. With a now healthy roster, we have incredible depth. This team can easily run with any other club in the league.

Offense much improved with Perry, Ribeiro, Cogliano, and McDonald. Even without Yandle and Klesla I still like our D. They're young, but bring a good balance of experience and the ability to play in almost any situation.

Smith bombed here in his 2nd year so we parted ways. We brought in Ray Emery to replace him, and we expect Ray to pick up where he left off in Chicago. We think he fits our system and will work well with goalie coach Sean Burke.

Personally I'm pretty much done with v.6 anyway, made offers to UFAs (didnt land any but oh well!), there's no trading going on, so there's no point continuing this one.

Think it's time to go to v.7

I think part of the reason there is less trading is there are fewer ****** GMs to take advantage of.

I also think the NTC/NMC (always a reasonable consideration, and one that has become more and more prevaent) really do constrain teams. A lot of team's have trigger fingers so some deals are done before others even make offers (which is their/our own fault). Finally, people are a little less connected as they used to be.

That said, I'd like to blow up the Sharks, so I am in.

*One thought on deadline coinciding with the trade deadline, I'd like to spend all my time focused on trades in the actual NHL (note: I didn't say "real" NHL, I know this is the real ****ing thing to us)

Also, Gonzaga wtf you guys are killing me- this was our chance.
