Kaberle is waiting on a PM to make his decision. If I haven't contacted you in awhile then you are out, sorry.

The rest of the list will be up shortly after his decision.

Please, please, please, don't simply put up a list that includes a bunch of guys that have already signed when we've received no updates here. I'm sure many, like me, have a Plan A, B, C, D, E...but it makes no sense for us to throw out offers for everyone until we have an idea where we stand with Plan A.

I can promise you that no one but Kaberle will be signed tonight. The list will be up soon. Sorry for the wait. I'm very sick.

Signing of Reasoner completes our squad:

Booth-Weiss-Frolik
Jokinen-Courtier-Larose
Hecht-Matthis-Olesz
Chimera-Reasoner-Dvorak

Wideman-Allen
Gundbransson-Kulikov
Salvador-Ellerby
Garrison

Niittymaki
Markstrom

We believe we acquired a lot of quality up front with the drafting of Courtier, re-acquiring Reasoner and Dvorak, and adding Chimera (trade), Larose and Jokinen (signings).

Similarly, we think the addition of Gundbransson and Salvador can cover some of our losses in McCabe, while Niittymaki and Markstrom are a nice pair of goalies, even if below Vokoun's quality.

We believe we should climb out of the basement in the next two years, as Booth, Weiss, Frolik, Matthis, and Couturier should only get better, while our prospect pool is spectacular.

Check it out:
Mursak-Couturier-Rattie
Watson-Bjugstad-Coyle
McFarland-Strome-Repik
Donskoi-Shore-Dandonov
Droucher-Knight-Hyman
Jenks-Brickley-Birkholes

Gundbransson-Doherty
Harrington-Hamilton
Petrovic-Robak

Markstrom
Salak

Added the equivalent of 8 1st liners (Courturier, Strome, Rattie, Hamilton, Harrington, Coyle, Doherty, Mursak). The future of this team is insanely bright.

The Blues are going Wild!

Mikko Koivu a Blue

wpxkoivu0210.gif

Big news out of St. Louis today as it is being reported that they've just completed a blockbuster trade with the Minnesota Wild. The trade sees St. Louis acquiring the #1 C they've been looking for in Mikko Koivu.

:blues

Mikko Koivu
Marco Scandella

Brad Boyes
Andy McDonald
1st 2012
Ian Cole

The trade was a no brainer for us in St. Louis, as we move out some aging players in Boyes and McDonald, who are both effective Top 6 players, they just no longer suit our plans moving forward as a legitimate Stanley Cup contender. Losing our 1st rounder next season as well as promising prospect Ian Cole is tough, but we did also acquire Minnesota prospect Marco Scandella and we're very pleased to have him in our system. Koivu is quickly solidifying himself in the upper echelon of NHL players, and to have him centering our top line, we feel we have made a huge step to becoming a bigger contender. We feel like the depth we've lost in the Top 6 is easily replaceable with our younger forwards, and we're hoping to acquire a UFA winger in the upcoming days.

At the moment our roster is looking like

Perron-M.Koivu-Oshie
Doan-Berglund-UFA
Steen-Reinprecht-D'Agostini
UFA-McClement-Crombeen

Streit-Jackman
E. Johnson-Polak
UFA-Colaiacovo
Scandella

Halak
Conklin

We plan on giving Tarasenko a chance to crack the roster out of camp, but in the chance he is not ready we will have a UFA roster player to fill the spot.

Linden for GM of the year. Doan for a UFA+2nd, added a #1 d-man, and picked up a franchise center for two overpaid, entirely replaceable wings, on a team that lacks top end offensive talent.

4.25 for Scottie Upshall. I missed these games. :biglaugh:

The thing with Scottie is with the right system he can be very productive, he's just so freaking injury prone. I mean with Phoenix he hit 18 goals in 49 games, Mr. Backes has only hit over 18 once, and it took 82 games. Clearly Backes' game is stronger, but Upshall from 3-4M isn't TOO absurd if he stayed healthy.

Says the guy who signed Kaberle for $7.5 mil per year. :P

I take my GMing business seriously. My best signing of all time was Wade Redden for 10M per year.

Let's compare these defenses:

Robidas - Daley
Grossman - Niskanen
Fistric - Skrastins

Regehr - Kaberle
Robidas - McCabe
Grossman - Fistric

That one was probably my favourite..

In serious news, Toronto is willing to take on a cap dump if it gets us assets.

Also might still make some minor FA acquisitions, now that some of the Agents are done signing expensive D-men ;)

:wings have put F Dan Cleary on the block. We need to clear a bit of cap-space, so we are looking for a bottom-6 center who makes less, or a depth defenseman.

Don't be shy, e-mail with interest. This is a Cup-winner with a scoring touch, and all the intangibles!

Mike Knuble - 2 offers. Looking for a deal of 2.5 or higher and a contender

Have completed there offseason.

2011-12 Chicago Blackhawks

Kyle Beach - Jonathan Toews - Patrick Kane
Alexander Frolov - Patrick Sharp - Marian Hossa
Viktor Stalberg - Dave Bolland - Jack Skille
Byran Bickell - Ben Smith - Igor Makarov
Brandon Bollig as extra

Duncan Keith - Brent Seabrook
Niklas Hjalmarsson - Nick Leddy
Ivan Vishnevskiy - Mike Weaver
Brian Lee as #7

Antti Niemi
Corey Crawford

I feel I have a strong team. My 2nd line is as good as many 1st lines and my D is young and full of potential. Niemi won a cup with Hawks and Crawford is a solid #2 option

I also left myself 4.6 million in free cap room to longterm sign Sharp and others and to allow Hawks cap flexibility going forward

Prospects of note in system

LW Ludvig Rensfeldt (2010 2nd round)
LW/RW Kevin Hayes (2010 1st round)
LW Marcus Foligno (2009 4th round) (Acq via Buf)

RW Maxim Trunev (2008 5th round) (Acq via Mon)
C/W Phillippe Paradis (2009 1st round)
C/W Marcus Kruger (2009 5th round)
C Brandon Pirri (2009 2nd round)

D Simon Danis-Pepin (2006 2nd round)
D Shawn Lalonde (2008 3rd round)
G Kent Simpson (2010 2nd round)
G Macmilllian Carruth (2010 7th round)
G Sergei Gayduchenko (2007 7th round) (Acq via Florida)

2011 NHL Draft

2011 2nd round (32nd overall) - D Matt Killian , Delbarton (HS)
2011 2nd round (39th overall) - C Tobias Reider , Kitchener (OHL)
2011 2nd round (48th overall) - D Vicktor Bergland , Brynas Jr (Sweden)
2011 2nd round (49th overall) - C Vincent Trocheck , Saginaw (OHL)
2011 2nd round (51st overall) - LW Adam Lowry , Swift Current (WHL)

2012 NHL Draft

Hawks 1st round pick
Hawks 2nd round pick
Senators 2nd round pick
Sabres 2nd round pick
Hawks 3rd round pick
Hawks 4th round pick
Hawks 5th round pick
Hawks 6th round pick
Hawks 7th round pick

Hawks have a well stocked farm system + a healthy 2012 draft to continue to restock it

Cant wait for next GM game! I think although my team wasn't able to advance past 1st round I have built the foundation for a dynasty
