Sign a player whom you need to look at the FA thread to find out about.
Linden, Congrats. You've put together a great squad. Adding Koivu is huge. Great game.

Thanks. I'd like to think I did a pretty good job with the team. I compromised some prospects in Pietrangelo, Sonne, McCrae and the 1st 2012 but considering we added Doan, Reinprecht, Streit, Asham (for the playoff run) and now Koivu and Scandella I'm pretty pleased.

On another note... I'm a little disappointed no one noticed my titles

"Phoenix is singing the Blues"
"St. Louis is going Streit to the Stanley Cup"
"The Blues are going Wild!"

Sign Antti Miettinen to a 2 year 3M contract. 1.5M per season. We feel we got Antti on a great deal, he's a solid defensive player who can pot some goals throughout the season. He'll likely line up with Reinprecht on our 3rd line, and we'll give current 3rd liners Steen and D'Agostini a chance to compete for the 2nd line vacancy as they both demonstrated a more then capable. offensive game this past season.

Post in the FA thread you doofus. Maybe I'll make a new rule and veto signings if they're posted in here before the FA thread. :sarcasm:

Re: Frolov Signing - any cash beyond $1M to Frolov is too much, IMO. But I'll say it's a good signing for the Blackhawks, considering the shallow market and previous games' prices for him.

Looking to move Thomas Greiss, John McCarthy, and possibly Tom Kostopoulos for a better bottom 6 forward.

LAST CALL on some of these guys. A few of them will sign in Europe or Retire at Midnight, more will follow Friday. Almost all of these guys are willing to consider low-money 1yrs, incentive-heavy with low bases (for those that qualify: over 35 or injured last year *cough*Harding*cough*), 2Way deals and AHL contracts

New update

Some still very solid players available. A good offer money wise (more or less what they use to make) with good terms (2+ years) could make these players sign right away. If you try to get them on the cheap, it's ok but you will have to be a little more patient.

Top 6 fowards:

Brendan Morrison - Waiting for offer
Cory Stillman - Retirement?

Other notable:

Todd Marchant
Brian Sutherby
Chris Higgins

:ducks are ready to roll for the 2011-12 season.

We preserved what we believe is one of the league's best top-six and added some veteran grit to our bottom six that will make it much tougher for our opponents to get out of their own zones, cross the blue line, and set up in our zone.

We've also improved our PK and acquired some veteran defensive depth.

Here's our lineup heading into 2011-12:
(bold = trade deadline and off-season acquisitions)

Bobby Ryan -- Ryan Getzlaf -- Corey Perry
Joffrey Lupul -- Saku Koivu -- Teemu Selanne
Tomas Kopecky -- Michael Handzus -- Steve Ott
Jarkko Ruutu -- Kyle Chipchura -- George Parros
Matt Beleskey

Jay Bouwmeester -- Lubomir Visnovsky
Toni Lydman -- Cam Fowler
Paul Mara -- Jason Strudwick
Sheldon Brookbank

Jonas Hiller
Curtis McIlhenney

SALARY CAP LIMIT: $62.3M
SALARY CAP PAYROLL: $61.9M
SALARY CAP SPACE: $400K

The San Jose Sharks are set for the 2011-2012 season.

extralarge.png

San Jose Sharks
(2011-2012 roster)

Patrick Marleau - Joe Thornton - Tuomo Ruutu
Ryane Clowe - Joe Pavelski - Devin Setoguchi
Jamie McGinn - Logan Couture - Mark Recchi
Tom Kostopoulos - Scott Nichol - Arron Asham

Eric Brewer - Dan Boyle
Marc-Edouard Vlasic - Joni Pitkanen
Jason Demers - Douglas Murray

Tomas Vokoun
Justin Peters

Salary Cap: $61,875,001/$62,300,000

Salary Available: $424,999

After a disappointing loss in the 1st round of the playoffs, the Sharks needed to make a few moves. We felt that we needed a top 4 physical, defensive d-man and a physical bottom 6 forward, and we got what we wanted.

Leaving the team this offeseason were Erik Cole, Niclas Wallin, and John McCarthy.
Replacing these players are Arron Asham, Mark Recchi, and Eric Brewer.
Asham is an upgrade from McCarthy, Brewer is an upgrade from Wallin, and Recchi is a slight downgrade from Cole.

Vinny Prospal - no offers - He has a meeting with his agent tommorow morning to consider his options

Alex Kovelev - 1 offer top 6 minutes is a must

I still have lots of 4th liners/grinders available and you can find that in my post in the FA thread

Mike smith and giggy have signed. Other goalies still in play (no interest in Harding??? This makes the fact he rebuked me in pre-fa negotiation funny, but he deserves a home)

Next game can we quicken FA up? 1-2 days for the big guns and the floodgates open after that. Some teams complete their team with the big signings and by the time the smaller ones are made no one really cares anymore
