As a note to all....I will be auto-qualifying a few guys if there are any "major names" that absentee GMs left unqualified, so as not to blow the game out of proportion.

We're still shopping: Milan Lucic, Brad Marchand, Dennis Seidenberg and Rich Peverley, we're not looking to give them away, but need some cap flexibility.

Who is west RFA agent?

Soundwave

Easst RFAs are updated.

There are a few guys in there that were traded to WC teams...traditionally they are supposed to be signed thru their original RFA agent (in case negotiations were already started before the trade...obviously a GM would be frustrated if say they traded a guy who turned down 2M, then the guy was signed for 1M thru the other agent. Plus it avoids confusion)
If you went thru the West Agent tho, that's fine since it is the first game back. Let me know and i'll take them off the list.

The New York Islanders have signed 2nd overall selection Seth Jones to a 3 year entry level contract worth $3.525M/year.

"We feel that in drafting Seth we have acquired yet another franchise player, who will one day dominate his position, like few others have. His ability to create offense from the back end, while still being defensively responsible will go a long way in helping our team compete for at least the next decade."

The Islanders have also signed RFA's David Ullstrom and Kevin Poulin to new 3 year deals worth $875K/year.

In other news, the Islanders have announced that they will use their amnesty buy-out on goaltender Rick DiPietro.

Re-sign RFAs
Chris Stewart - 1 year 3 M. Time to get back to track before UFA status!
Also signed:
Chris Tanev, Bill Sweatt, Jordan Schroeder, Kevin Connauton, Anton Rodin, Darren Archibald, Yann Sauve

Ryan Kesler - Lots of offers coming in. Keep em rolling in. Selke winning/40 goal scoring/40 assist guys at 5M per season don't grow on trees.

Quick question to all agents... Is everyone who sends in an offer (assuming multi-offers for one client) going to get a response before decision?

Still looking to shake things up.

Our 2nd/3rd lines are the likely place for change.

Ryan Kesler, Chris Stewart, Jannik Hansen, are all available

Don't ask about Burrows, don't ask about Schneider, don't ask about Edler.

Sedins - Unless we are receiving a franchise player + back.. don't ask.

The End of an Era

It is with mixed emotions, that captain Daniel Alfredsson has decided to call it a career. Alfredsson spent his entire 17 year career with the Senators, winning the Calder Trophy as the NHL's rookie of the year in 1996. Drafted in the sixth round, 133rd overall in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, Alfredsson is considered to be one of the leagues greater finds in the late rounds of the draft and just goes to show that regardless of draft position, you can find success if you work hard enough for it.

The captain finished off his 1,131 game career with 1,082 points (466 goals and 666 assists), and a plus/minus rating of +152. We'd like to thank him for all of his years of service on the ice with his club. No player has had more of an impact on the Senators organization than Alfie.

However, Alfie will remain in the organization! He has taken on a duel role of Assistant Coach/Director of Player Development. The Senators are expected to name a new captain within the coming days.

The Senators organization will miss having such a tremendous leader on the ice for the club, but look forward to seeing how he can help the club from a new perspective.

Mark Streit will make a decision at 10:00am EST tomorrow. I am asking all teams that have submitted offers to send me your absolute best offer for us to review.

EDIT: I should have mentioned, his current offers are multi-year deals worth $5M/yr.
