Oduya to the Rangers

The New York Rangers make their first contribution to the NHL deadline with the aquistion of Defenseman Johnny Oduya and Atlanta's Third Round Pick in 2011. Heading back to Atlanta is winger Alexander Frolov and prospect Matt McCue.

We're really happy to add Oduya. We believe he can be a solid contributor during our playoff run, and we look forward to seeing him wear the Blue and Red.​

The Rangers actually aquired Atlanta's 3rd round pick in 2011, not 4th. That was the trade that was agreed upon and sent in.

Heading back to Calgary will be top prospects Chris Kreider and Dylan McIlrath, along with Defenseman Matt Gilroy and Ruslan Fedotenko and New York's First Rounder in 2011

Rangers GM CooperDean said numerous times at this afternoon's press confrence on how Jay and more top Talent to the blueline, and how he feels it will play a big part in making a legitimate playoff run.

Cooper and the New York Organization wished Chris, Dylan, Matt and Ruslan well in Calgary, they look to have a promising future with these kids.​
