Let this Gionta thread die and let's pretend he never played with us.

Good riddance!

We should probably say the same thing to you for such a bad post.

After all what have you done for us lately.

No one cares
Gionta was great defensively and could score a few, we are going with the youth movement so him being gone will open up some ice time for the young guys. If and I mean If Rene Borque can show up for the regular season the transition might not be as painful. We hhave to hope Eller and Gallagher and Parenteau and Chucky are ready to produce or this could be a tough season. On a positive note, we won't have to read countless posts about Gionta's ability to suck or screw up anything. Giontas departure was due s lets move on, it's Gorges that we will miss the most.

Well, our former captain is now captain of the Sabres. Maybe he does indeed have leadership despite what some posters around here loved to say.

As a day-to-day professional, I'm sure he set a fabulous example behind the scenes for younger players. He'll do the same in Buffalo whilst their promising kids learn the ropes.

On the ice however, it became clear that he wasn't going to be part of the core that will hopefully lead the CH to no.25.

He was just as productive last year as Gallagher, yet played tough minutes and was outstanding on the PK. He was a good player for us last year, even though the team was taking another direction this year.

As productive as Gallagher? Well that's the problem. He was a 35 year old making big money, whereas Gallagher was a 21 year old barely scratching the surface.
