Picking up Barkov and game is in Tampere and its our homegame.
This seems to be a theme around here lately. It's nice to have dreams, but I'd really like it if we could avoid harassing Florida fans with this idea. It was unwelcome when folks did it to us with our players; it's only fair that we extend other teams the courtesy we desire extended to us. Marginalized markets ought to stick together against the vultures.

Not a fan, but I came here with the Laine train and here I am 2 AM waiting for the game to start. Middle aged, working man. Yeah, I am crazy and this is a very very bad idea.

When I was young CBJ did not exist. I have a very warm spot on my (now broken) heart for the Jets and soft spots for the Flames and also for the Panthers that came to the NHL when I was a school kid.

The Blue Jackets was kind of Tabula Rasa for me. No strong opinions for or against, and I think that's a good thing.

Things I like the Blue Jackets so far:

-colors and those jerseys, deep blue with red and white
-alternate logo with cannon *
-the cannon!
-Jarmo
-Tortorella
-defensive play
-overall play structure
-Korpisalo and Elvis
-CBJ showing love to Laine, obviously

And did I forget to mention the Cannon?

(* there is nothing wrong with primary logo, but it's not like super cool like the Flames logo was for a young kid back then)

I am a Finn from roughly the same area than Laine. Also my nickname "Halberdier" is a reference to my favourite team Tappara ("battle axe", a bit like halberd), which was also Laine's youth team.

Mid aged Finnish man here also, started to follow NHL when Jari Kurri played in Edmonton so that's why Edmonton has always been one of my favorites, others are Avs and Devils, let's see shall we add CBJ to that list also. It was a time when you got results two days later in finnish newspapers, so if game was on Friday, results were at newspapers earliest on Sunday.

Came also because of Laine here, also followed Jets when Selänne played there. Never been in Ohio or in Columbus, maybe some year then when all travel bans are finished. BTW, that Cannon Rocks!

Siddhartha is definitely worth a read, even if you're not into spirituality. Glass Bead Game is kind of long and tiring compared to Siddhartha and other shorter novels, but it's still very good if you like his style. If you haven't read anything from him before I'd recommend to begin with collections of poems and short stories and maybe then move into Siddhartha. :thumbu:
Honestly... although I know Hermann Hesse, I have red nothing from him. I think I`ll start with short stories because I`m not a fan of poems... . I want to take a state exam in Russian, so when I think of having to read Vladimir Mayakovsky and Marina Tsvetaeva...

I was gonna make one update to my bio. YoungGuns80 beat me to it.

Favorite current TV show is Ted Lasso. If you don't have Apple TV+ its worth it just for this show and if you have Apple TV+ and don't watch it...shame on you! Who doesn't love F'n Roy Kent?

My wife and I also watch The Great British Baking Show together. That's the closest I get to reality TV :)

It's strange: feels like most folks here are old enough to be my parents. Despite this, it's great to be seen as an equal despite my age and despite being so new on HFBoards.

It's awesome, the stuff they redid like equipment and perks works great and the DLC drops right into the main story like it was always supposed to be there. Up there with some of the Mass Effect series DLC as my all time favorites.
Not to clog the thread with offtopic, but I just installed the DLC yesterday. I just finished Starfield this weekend so now I'm diving back into CP2077. Haven't touched it since patch 2.0 so it's all brand new to me again, although I'd beaten it a few times already and was working my wait to a platinum achievment trophy until Starfield released.

I always got the impression blonde hair and blue eyes would not necessarily be distinguishing physical characteristics in Finland :)

It feels SO much better and the DLC is fantastic. @Jovavic is right it's entirely worth deep diving. Definitely start fresh as all the skill trees have been reworked!
