The Minnesota Vikings released cornerback Jeff Gladney on Tuesday after he was indicted by a Texas grand jury on a charge of felony assault against a woman with whom he was previously in a relationship.

"Following our review of today's indictment against Jeff Gladney, we have decided to release Jeff immediately. As we have previously said, we take these matters very seriously and condemn all forms of domestic violence. Due to the ongoing legal nature of this matter, we are unable to provide further comment," the team said in a statement.

Gladney, 24, who was a first-round draft pick last year out of TCU, started 15 games for the Vikings as a rookie. He had not been around the team since his arrest in April in Dallas.

He is charged with domestic violence by impeding breathing, for "intentionally, knowingly and recklessly" causing bodily injury and applying pressure to the woman's neck and throat, according to the indictment. The altercation grew out of an argument and took place over a span of more than two hours, according to a lawsuit recently filed against Gladney by the former girlfriend. She also alleged in the suit that he tried to bribe her and intimidate her into keeping quiet.

No court date has been scheduled yet. If he is convicted, the cornerback could serve up to 10 years in prison.

The Denver Broncos are scheduled to kick off the 2021 season against the New York Giants this Sunday, but one of their star players has run into a legal issue. According to Mike Klis of 9News, Broncos pass-rusher Bradley Chubb was arrested Tuesday on a failure-to-appear warrant. According to court records obtained by Klis, the warrant stems from traffic infractions.

The records indicate that Chubb was charged for misdemeanor driving under restraint earlier this summer, and also for having his license plates expired for 60-plus days. The former No. 5 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft was scheduled to appear in Arapahoe County court on Aug. 6, but did not show.

Sgt. Jeff Miller from the Douglas County Sherriff released this statement to 9News:

"Mr. Chubb was contacted late this morning for a minor traffic infraction by deputies from our office. After contacting Mr. Chubb it was discovered that he had a warrant out of Arapahoe County for FTA (Failure to Appear) on traffic offenses and was taken into custody and transported to the Douglas County Detention Center and is currently in the process of posting a small bond."

Getting arrested for not showing up to traffic court is….I don’t know, that seems like somebody making some poor decisions.

Hell baby
I doubt it was 1 time that he missed a test. Does that mean he wanted to avoid having to take one? Who knows.

that’s exactly what it means, happens in the ufc with USADA sometimes. They don’t suspend you until it’s blatantly obvious you’re ducking them, you have to miss your test multiple times
