That Beagle one a case in point. Should have passed the puck way earlier but true to our form we turn an odd man rush into a limited shot.

And another one. You can't make this up. Do they ever work on odd man rushes?

Caps separating themselves a little bit in the standings.

This is a good thing. Holtby has been so good - but having some wiggle room to give him some rest as the seaon goes on will be a plus.

BTW, Caps are starting to be a bit more consistent in beating good teams. Good stuff.

Caps just turn the puck over... even on a PP... good job guys. Looks like the offense left Pittsburgh already.

Now the Pens announcers complaining about the Beagle hit. Brought up Aaron Asham fighting him by saying, "Where's Asham when you need him?"

Nice to see that Trotz finally took a chance and put 2 skilled guys on one of the bottom-6 lines. You can see how much the Caps benefit from an injection of quickness, such as what Galiev has added, even in limited time. And then Bura starts to look more alive, because he has somebody who might be able to make a play or a turnover. And in limited ice-time they don't get too exposed -- and get better development than being stuck with two grinders (each).

Would be great if the Caps evolve towards a speedier lineup, even if it means fewer "traditional" grinders.
