I think a good comp would be Landeskog, 8 years by 56 - 7M AAV - Gaudreau has a higher PPG but Landeskog brings other elements to his game. Maybe a 7yr by 8mill (duchene deal).

I'd be shocked if Gaudreau takes a discount like that, especially after the way his last contract negotiation went down.

If he thinks he deserves Brayden Point's money he should be traded. You can't tie up 12% of your cap to one dimensional player who cant seem to find a way to succeed in tight checking games.

As a devils fan, it wouldn't shock me, but there also may be some better fits out there as we are pretty flush at LW.

Regardless, I'd be shocked to see him re-sign in Calgary for anything under $9M AAV, especially after the Kaprizov contract.

Tre won't let Gaudreau walk, so he won't go to NJ unless we trade him. If I were Tre, it'd cost Zacha and Sharangovich.
