McQuaid, Claesson, Staal and Smith are 4 of their 6 defensemen, and Kevin Shattenkirk is coming off of major knee surgery.

That might be the slowest defensive corps in all of hockey. Brady Skjei will have his work cut out for him.

Huh
I’m not sure if I like the decision of starting Varly. Would have rather gone with Grubauer for this one

Varly gives us the best chance to win right now. Also hes had two days rest.
Not so sure about that when factoring in the team.

Grubauer has a 1.75 G.A.A. and .947 SV% with 1 shutout in his career vs NYR in 7 games.
Varlamov has a 3.07 G.A.A and a .901 SV% in his career vs NYR in 9 games.

Given how Varly was especially worked vs Calgary on Saturday, and the team lost, the choice here would seem rather simple to me.

The Avs speed will cause the Rangers a lot of issues and result in a bunch of quality scoring chances. Lundqvist has to bail them out to get anything out of the game.

Yeah this is both a must win and and a should win situation so let's kick into high gear Avs and work a full 60 minutes instead of just 1 period like the last game. I cautiously optimistic though and I am hoping the last game was just a fluke

Better to play Varly tonight having 2 full days rest then again Saturday with 3 days rest . Otherwise Grubaer would be playing 2 times this week or Varly on 1 say rest

I profess ignorance. Who is Eraserhead? Jost? What about Dano? What's his nickname? Book 'em?
