It's a good thing they brought back Gendry and Beric and Thoros, to make "losses" possible while actually being completely expendable

Gendry won't die without seeing Arya again. Not to mention it's been kind of thought that he would forge the weapons for battle.

So if Jon manages to capture a wight, I think he'll pass by Winterfell on his way to Kings' Landing and show it to the Northern lords. He will tell them that Daenerys is willing to fight with them if they bend the knee. The wight will scare the Northern lords ****less and they all bend the knee to get Daenerys' help.
