Garland is a poor man's Marchand, or a Marchand wannabe. I'm not sure which. Sure, I'd take Garland back, but not on a team with small forwards, like ours. At 181lb Marchand is the lightest Boston forward per NHL.com. (I didn't check the weights of the centers.). I'd take Domi back in a heartbeat, because he punches above his weight class. Garland does not.
There's so much to be said for team balance. Boston, Colorado, Tampa, they have it. I want to roll four lines like the old Wings. Let other teams struggle to match up with us. With Crouse, Macchelli, McBain, Guenther, Schmaltz, Keller and Cooley, we can roll 3 lines, at least, to score and one line to push the game along.
