Keefe said Holl is out tomorrow so a big chance for Lilly here. It should be interesting how he manages his usage. With the kind of usage Muzzin gets, it's slightly surprising Keefe is pairing Lilly with Muzzin. It might have made more sense moving Dermott or even Sandin up, but Keefe either wants to see these 2 together, or just wanted to keep the other pairings who have been good.
Right, I think Sandin will be at least starting the playoffs pairs with Dermott on the right. So it makes sense he wants them together as much as possible.

Keefe could switch Sandin and Rielly so every young guy has a veteran with them. Sandin/Brodie looks better than Rielly/Brodie already. Would be nice to see that pair a second, third, fourth time.

Sandin/Brodie
Muzzy/Liljegren
Rielly/Dermott

Habs fans are getting into final homer form. They can all of a sudden beat us and take us out in the playoffs, and Nick Robertson will never amount to anything more than a 3rd liner.

Caufield is now the second coming of Lafleur lol

Is it odd that I was overly joyed to see "Engvall" as a placeholder dman instead of Marincin?
The little things that make a Sunday better.
Marincin has no business on this roster with the depth we have and I actually don't mind him much as a depth guy. We just have better players now.

I'm more excited to see what could potentially be next years defense depending on who we protect between Dermott/Holl.

In his "dominant" AHL debut, he scored a standstill PP goal and had one rush that he capitalized on against a career .880sv% Woll. Marlies are one of the worst teams in the AHL.

MTL rushing him to the NHL is gravy, they'll ruin him. He's "on a different level" yet has the same stat line now as Robertson did in the play-ins while being a year younger at the time. Difference is the Leafs know how to develop and since sending him back down he's become a top PKer and way better defensively while sitting at .75PPG. Debrincat vs. Gallagher comparison.

Ovechkin built an entire legacy on standstill PP goals.

Excited for Muzzin-Liljegren.

That's exactly where he should be next year assuming Holl gets picked by Seattle.

Let Holl rest for the next 2-3 games while he deals with the facial injury. Let Liljegren get some reps in while getting Holl some much deserved rest.

It’s always going to be a challenge with Lilj and Sandin being waiver eligible. You always want to bring in ample depth and you never want to lose that depth to waivers. They’ll have to bring more than any defenseman we can sign for $1m or less in UFA. I think Sandin is there, but I’m not sure if Lilj will be a mainstay next year due to this.

Beat the Habs these upcoming games to set the tone and it'll force our own fate. Don't have to play Wpg in round 1
