I expect a loss tonight. Bishop returning home. Injuries to key players. First game back from a road trip. Quality opponent playing well.

The Blues can't win them all....but I wish they would.

Honestly I am more worried about our defense than our forward lines. SOB has been on fire the last month and Stastny is a more than adequate replacement for Lehtera between Schwartz and Vladi. The third line had its moments against Washington so if we limit their ice time they should be ok. That leaves the 4th line which IMO has been right up there with SOB line as our best the last few games, I would feel comfortable matching them against just about anyone.

That defense on the other hand.... Without Shatty on the backend I feel like our PP% is going to plummet and breakouts will contain a lot more dump and chase. This is a situation where we need that top pairing to step up their game to another level. Also, if Butler struggles I have 0 problem giving Lindbohm another game or two up with the club to see if he sticks. I like his style of defense and I feel his shot could be beneficial on the PP too.

Shattenkirk is a huge loss, no question about that, but I like our defensive unit's ability to play as a team even if we lose his offensive touch.

All in all, now is not the time to be upset.

If that's the case, we'll definitely see a trade coming for a winger.

For now though, I can live with the right combination of the above players. Obvious weaknesses aside (I'm lookin' at you, Lindstrom).
