Happy with the result. Only player i want to point out is Wierchioch. I prefer to watch Cowen over him anytime. Think Cowen at list have a chance to turn things around. Teams are searching for D in a moment, so maybe there is some interest in Wier. By the time Methot is back, Wierchioch needs to be gone.

I'm one of wiercioch's biggest defenders but he was dreadful last night. Not so much on defence but he just kept missing the puck. It was stranger like he was using a struck that was too short for him.

Karlsson had the bad pinch on the shorty and the drop pass to nowhere.

Aside from that, not too bad.

My main beef is that he gets a lot of shooting opportunities and he hits the net about 1 in 10.

He finally puts it on net and Legwand scores on the rebound.

You don't have to pop the water bottle every time Erik ;)

The shorty is more on stone for throwing that muffin there. Some blame to the coaching staff as well for having four forwards. You have another defender there and he is moving to the center of the ice and is prepared to cut off the opponent once he sees the pinch happening. Speaking as a defensemen, that's one of the toughest positions you can be put in.

For a puck moving defensmen Wiercioch makes some questionable decisions with the puck. Anyone else disturbed with the decision he made with the puck on Colorado's first goal? No forecheck, team is preparing for the breakout and he throws the puck to Ryan who is just a few feet away, leaving Ryan out to dry. Ryan literally has one option here and that is skate the puck as three senators are behind him when he is at the hash mark and the forth being way ahead of the play and out of the picture. That play probably leads to Wiercioch being scratched next game. One thing I like about his game is his PP zone entires.

Cowen should be put in but not in a top 2 defender role. Wier was terrible offensively, I would have risked some D to get him games but his O wasn't worth it last night. Knowing that PMac isn't too fond of him, I say Cowen draws back in the lineup on Saturday

I wish our most ineffective forward didn't receive the most ice time. Honestly, what has 9MM done in any aspect, ES, PP, PK, to deserve leading the forwards in ice time?

Wasn't his best night, but even then PW moved the puck up the ice better than most of our D.

last nights game was perfectly coached i thought. interms of players playing. and style after the first i liked what i saw, its not the coahces fault our defense was getting walked around one on one, at some point its on the man on the ice.

Gryba and Weircioch must have had some kind of pre game competition to see who could get themselves scratched for the next game.

I've never seen an NHLer whiff on 4 different passes in the same game. You're at the NHL level, it should almost be a foregone conclusion at this point that you can make contact with the puck when you're passing.

Gryba on the other hand made so many bad decisions in his own zone. As well as those 2 absolutely stupid penalties.

Also thought weircoch was awful last night.

Low-light was being on the powerplay against an AHL 3rd string goalie, getting 0 shots on net and giving up a shorty. I stopped watching for a while after that ><

It's funny on our board. Not as funny on the main board. Just IMO.

Baby steps with this team.

Interesting stat I stole from the Avs board:

Number of NHL games on every current NHL roster.

11265 New Jersey
9554 Nashville
9359 Pittsburgh
9340 San Jose
9144 New Jersey
9129 Colorado
9107 Chicago
9086 Vancouver
8971 Dallas
8884 Boston
8879 Los Angeles
8425 Anaheim
8423 Philadelphia (removed Kimmo and Prongers games)
8408 Arizona
8153 St Louis
8119 Florida
8040 Washington
7831 Tampa
7737 Carolina
7695 Montreal
7509 Minnesota
7507 Detroit
7209 Calgary
7126 Islanders
6948 Winnipeg
6902 Toronto
6803 Columbus
5934 Buffalo
5073 Edmonton
4688 Ottawa

And Phillips played 1000+ games. So 3688/22 players/82 games = 2 year average per player

Take Philips and Neil out of that and we would drop to under 3000 games...lol

This was a great game to watch. It had everything really...highs and lows, some great goaltending and some poor goaltending. Momentum swings and home town heroes. What a fun game to watch...just sorry I had to turn down tickets at the 200 level. :(

Really liked Lazar, Stone and Ceci again. It's crazy but I feel like our younger players, outside of Turris and MacArthur, have been our best to start the year. We need it to continue if we're going to keep trying for a playoff spot. On top of that when we're down our goaltending isn't falling apart like it did last year and as a result we're being given a chance to get back into the game. It's really night and day.

Never liked Michalek re-signing to begin with. Loses constant puck battles and then the play turns dead on his stick.....

I'm making a bold prediction that 9MM won't even reach 15 goals this season (that's 2 less than the 17 he had last year).:shakehead

Not really bold, he played with Spezza last year, this year he is on the 3rd/4th line. I'd be surprised if he hit 15

Why is NJ there twice? Are the really old or just mostly old?
