From MattyPorts:
“Three Boston pro teams have yet to lose at home in regulation: the Bruins (10-0-4), Celtics (7-0), and Patriots (5-0). The Bruins are the NHL’s only team with a zero in that column.”

thats wack.

Preposterous. Absurd

My memories kick in around the year 1999, this run somehow gets more ridiculous by the year

Sweet sweet memories... I just wish that I could forget the beat-down that he gave Wagner.
I'll bet Wagner has forgiven him but because of the fact that he got involved at an inappropriate time
and for the wrong reason at the time I'm fine with him being retired and gone. Thanks for the memories and all you've done for the team and the city Adam but that Wagner beating was dumb. Hopefully the Bruins won't have to deal with you on the ice again. I'm okay if he takes a job with the team in the front office, maybe as "boxing coach" but that's about it.

I saw part of the first period but promised the grandkids (Both of them play hockey on 2 teams twice a week) that YES grandpa can skate and did play hockey. So I met them and my daughter and son in law at a rink yesterday and realized that 24 years without skating has taken its toll on my body. Both of them (girl 6 yo, boy 8 yo) I thought "no problem, get on the ice and show-em how it's done."
NOPE! after the first half hour my 8 year old grandson decided that the "tough old man" could take a hit. I tried shifting around him and he took my legs out LOL. Plop goes the "tough old guy." banged up hip, elbow and ego.
Anyway, when I got home I watched the rest of the game, who the **** were the refs? Yet another poorly officiated game IMO. The B's deserved what they got in penalties for the most part but the Rags got away with several. The other thing I took away was the biased job that Emrick and co. (not Milbury) did in pushing the Rags and saying how great this Ranger is and that Ranger is. I hate HATE games on the network.

Interesting but the article pretty much says he is leaning towards retiring, with a small shot at playing again but he is a banged up 33 year old who has not skated since September. He is being more reasonable than Backes about his health long term. McQuaid was a good soldier when he was here but let's not get carried away with false innuendo.

He lives in Boston and was just hanging around seeing the guys. He is not playing because of concussions, so the idea he will come back and fight like its 2011 is crazy and the worst thing he could do for his health. Lauzon, Kampfer, Zboril and Vaak are better options right now today. Miller will be back and Moore soon enough to send down Cliffy.

doubt that, and nobody is padding stats lol the players are trying to win a cup. Also saying Bergeon and Krejci dont have an effect on their wingers success and anyone could play that role means you don't value the center role.

i guess for me what im saying is that marchand and pastrnak score at the same rate whether they play with Bergeron or krejci or nash. im just going based on game logs and past results

whoever centers for them has little to no effect on their offense

but theres much much much more to hockey than offense. last year in Edmonton mcdavid and drasitl produced a lot of offense and their team finished at the bottom of the standings. offense by itself without a well rounded game is not the key to success

Bergeron has developed into a bumper... a shooter... a quick shot artist. and his passing is better with marchand than it is with other players. theres a 6th sense with marchand. farmilarity has created chemistry. weve seen Bergeron in his career with other players and hes a 55-60 point guy. Bergeron is NOT an elite offensive talent. Bergeron IS AN ELITE DEFENSIVE TALENT

personally I wonder if Bergeron sacrafices his true talent in order to keep up with marchand and pastrnak? we saw Heinen go to this line last year instead of pastrnak and their defensive play improved a lot. I dont give Heinen that credit. instead I think Bergeron/marchand said holycrap we dont have pastrnak, we better focus on our defense.

maybe Bergeron would play better defense if he wasnt to preasured to keep up with marchand and pastrnak?

but... I do think bergerons offense would drop from its current 80-95 point pace and go back to 50-55-60 if he was seperated from marchand.

I dont think marchands pace would go down if he was seperated from Bergeron... but marchands defense would suffer.

so for me... I wonder who compliments marchand/pastrnak and helps their line play 3 zone hockey more. is it Bergeron? is it krejci? is it coyle?

could it be someone else we havent traded for yet?

the center is very important... but marchand and pastrnak both carry the puck... both make plays... they are NOT DEPENDENT on a center in order to be elite offensive players. I suspect either one of them could play center themselves {at least offensively} and they both move a lot in the offensive zone... dont stand still... go to the middle of the ice... neither guy is just stuck mucking the corners like some wingers would be.

we got special players in marchand and pastrnak and I fully believe they shouldnt be broken up. give them whatever center can take the defensive responsibility for them. and use the other center to build a second line with.

if we do end up getting taylor hall... I would favor trying hall with Bergeron on the second line and giving marchand/pastrnak a very cheap affordable center. I dont think they need Bergeron to carry their luggage. they can play with anyone

Given the nature of how intense and physical most NHL games are played, the post game interviews with players / coaches can become hot takes as the players slowly decompress from their in game experiences.

Yup I was a kid and remember that season, they lost in the first round that year and then Ftorek got fired the season after that.
Bruins had a winning record when Ftorek was fired too.
He actually got fired the same season, after starting 19-4-3-1,they then went 14-28-5-3 and he was canned in March.

To recap, we’ve gone from Riley Nash is just as good as krejci and Bergeron to we could both put up points playing with pasta and Marchand followed by Pasta and Marchand can play center themselves.
I’m going with what I see on ice and that is krejci and Bergeron are both offensive talents that makes their wings better no matter who the wingers are. I have no idea where you come up with these other ridiculous scenarios. There is no reality where pasta and Marchand produce nearly as much offense at record paces right now with Riley Nash as their Center compared to Bergeron and krejci

The third period was fun to watch and I don't blame Marchand for being pissed off. Honestly, the NHL is such a joke in regard to concussions, that stupidity could have lost the game for the B's. I really thought something was off with him after he went down the tunnel in the third and then came back - his face said it all but now we all know why. Between the reffing and this blunder, it is shocking we came away with a win.

I don't know if I'm back tbh, more just an acknowledgement of being overly dramatic in the past when it comes to DK. I was high on him coming up but became completely disenfranchised with him after. I've gained a new found appreciation for him, and enjoy the hell outta watching him again. I'm more of a lurker here and that's aok.

But pSA that some might find helpful. If you find yourself becoming disenfranchised by the team or a player, by the GMs moves or whatever, it might not be the team or the player. It might be just annoyance, or inability to process the fact that others consider that player the next chiming of Mario, or refuse to think about potential negative impacts.

Guys like Krejci, Bergeron, Rask, McAvoy, Carlo, Marchand, Krug. Chara... None of them are perfect but god damnit if they aren't a ridiculously fun team to watch. It's an awesome time to be a bruins fan.
Your probably correct on your assessment. I too became annoyed with Krejci. To be honest, he has been hurt in the past. I think the fact that he was the highest paid forward made me pick on him. Regardless, he has been very good since last year.

As far as this team being fun to watch, it is. The entertainment value is through the roof. I hated the Clode era. Not because they won a CUP(LOL!), but because of the constant cycling and perimeter play. Towards the end, it was brutal to watch. The fun factor is due to the roster make up. Good mixture right now. You can’t be a team full of vets and no young players. Everyone needs someone to hang out with off the ice. This is where friendships are made and it translates to the ice.

Didn’t think he was coming back but was more interested in when he gets well the Bruins find something in the organization for him

After taking a long break from this forum I'm again at a point where I really appreciate Krejci and his game.

I often focused on the negatives of Krejci because so many refused to see them. I became extremely negative towards the player, when in reality it had less to do with him then it did peoples perceptive here of him. It was to the point where I couldn't watch a bruins game without getting pissed everytime he turned over the puck, even though that's a rather regular play of the game.

The Bruins can ill afford to part with Krejci now, maybe that wasn't the case in the past, maybe it was. Water under the bridge.

He's an awesome #2 guy, capable of shifting into the #1 spot in a pinch. He's ridiculously humble, and an overall good dude. The Bruins have a fantastic 1/2 punch with him and Bergy. Studnicka and Bjork look damn good as well for the future.
Well said and nice to see you posting ! I hope you are back !

Yes, it's not about calling the game no more... nor fairplay, being fair, its not even about the game no more. It's about the f***ing money.

Bruins fans should be resigned by now to be on the wrong side of the calls. There's always a good excuse for it.

If Rooney is considered a Top 5 NHL official then this league is infinitely f***ed. I'm curious if Tim Peel and Marc Joannette also make up any of the "Top 5". Wes McCauley, who is #1 should, be embarrassed by his performance yesterday.

I just read through the Rags GDT...Yikes. Before the game even started there was a few posters calling for one of their boys to sucker punch Bergy because he is so "smug". Once they knew he wasn't playing they wanted anyone on our top line to get a sucker punch.

There were a few very bad posters there. There were good ones too.

Yes, I agree. For stretches Bruins play with an up tempo and speed that I haven't seen in a long time, if ever. The entertaining factor also much higher and of course having extremely talented players like Pasta, Marchy and Krejci out there helps. These guys can almost do whatever they want on a hockey rink. But, they also play with smallest of margins but they rarely have any off nights so it's very fun to watch.

I mean what if Pasta's pass didn't connect with Krejci the Rangers could have had a 3 on 1 situation, but as a skillful player with an extremely high hockey IQ I am pretty sure Pasta knew exactly where Krejci was on that goal. It wasn't like he just threw that puck in front of the net. You can almost see where he tempted that pass. Beautiful goal as it ever gets.

David Krejci, when healthy and on his game, is the Bruins best playmaker and most talented offensive player next to Pasta. He's had many injuries but seems to have been better the last two seasons.

For my money, the Bruins should rest Patrice Bergeron until he's as close to 100% again. For now at least there's certainly no need to rush him back.

Also on the positive side is the play of Anders Bjork. I wasn't as high on him after two shoulder operations but he's speedy and can make plays, but he's also beginning to finish checks, playing with much more confidence.

Even more impressive in my opinion is Jack Studnicka. This kid is gonna be a dandy. He's a real good skater, checks hard and seem to have real good hockey sense. Plays aggressive and isn't afraid to go into the corners. I'm pretty sure he will be a regular roster player before this season is over.

That's because the actual number is in the thousands ;) , but I got negative and stupid, and deserved to get "reset" for acting out on mods who didn't deserve it. Neither here nor there honestly, should have been more appreciative of the Admins effort instead of making it harder on them.

Typically I don't mind listening to Emrick call a game, EXCEPT when he calls games involving the Rangers. You can sense the ball-washing just from the tone of his voice.

I get tired of the raise in level of noise every time there is a shot on goal. It was nauseating at the Rangers gaga. All teams in NY suck except two.
