NHL refs are pretty good IMO. They frequently make calls that I don't see until watching the replay in slomo. On the other hand, the way they call some offenses encourages embellishment. For example, if a guy doesn't fall down, tripping is almost never called. Superior balance is thus penalized. The show me the blood double minor rule is essentially "no blood no foul." What other sport does this?

Bashing refs is a longtime sport for some fans. Gives me a few chuckles.

The Oilers are good for a change and suddently their fanbase (on HF) becomes super obnoxious.

Unfortunately that's pretty much human nature, the only fortunate thing is that it's typically just the fair weather fan. I'm certain we'll have our share, if that day ever comes.
