The Dominique Ducharme Era, enters its second game.
It was a near unanimous welcome across all platforms, including HF, for the young, forward-thinking, offensive-minded coach. He was going to show those slackers on the team, what's what and not fall prey to the habits of his predecessor.
In short, Hab fans were expecting this:
And then, Ducharme's lineup was posted for that highly anticipated first game against Winnipeg on Thursday, Feb. 25th.
We check the Habs lineup for the game and lo and behold ... Price is starting, Danault gets offensive wingers, defensive pairings are the same. Hummmm ....
Maybe the game would tell a different story. But no, Price was not at his best. Danault got the highest TOI amongst all forwards -- good thing he was there, they might have lost by a higher differential than the 3 goals that favored the Peg.
So, who's going to look after Habs' fans interests now? Luckily for us, this guy has just started a brand new interactive show -- count on him to keep the Habs and Ducharme honest:
Of course, those who bought into Ducharme, claimed that he was merely allowing the team's veterans to fail and that adjustments would be made.
You'd probably figure, Ducharme would do something drastically different for tonight's game. Not exactly, when you see the lines from yesterday's practice:
Instead of the guy who was going to shake this up from the get-go, for now at least, it appears that we ended up with this guy instead:
Welcome to the new boss. Same as the old boss.
GHG.
