The Dominique Ducharme Era, enters its second game.

It was a near unanimous welcome across all platforms, including HF, for the young, forward-thinking, offensive-minded coach. He was going to show those slackers on the team, what's what and not fall prey to the habits of his predecessor.

In short, Hab fans were expecting this:

And then, Ducharme's lineup was posted for that highly anticipated first game against Winnipeg on Thursday, Feb. 25th.

We check the Habs lineup for the game and lo and behold ... Price is starting, Danault gets offensive wingers, defensive pairings are the same. Hummmm ....

Maybe the game would tell a different story. But no, Price was not at his best. Danault got the highest TOI amongst all forwards -- good thing he was there, they might have lost by a higher differential than the 3 goals that favored the Peg.

So, who's going to look after Habs' fans interests now? Luckily for us, this guy has just started a brand new interactive show -- count on him to keep the Habs and Ducharme honest:

Of course, those who bought into Ducharme, claimed that he was merely allowing the team's veterans to fail and that adjustments would be made.

You'd probably figure, Ducharme would do something drastically different for tonight's game. Not exactly, when you see the lines from yesterday's practice:

Instead of the guy who was going to shake this up from the get-go, for now at least, it appears that we ended up with this guy instead:

Danault has literally transformed into Desharnais. Favoured and played out of position by dinosaur habs coaching staff to the detriment of the rest of the team namely the young stars.

this team will never get better until we get new ownership that cares about winning over sucking up to the culture.

Excellent story telling GDT as always Runner.

The offense did show signs of life last game, we opened up more, generated some good chances. Danaualt is still an offensive black hole, but Doruin showed signs of life for the first time this season. Armia was engaged and revived from the dead. I didn't hate what I saw but there is room for improvement.

Our downfall is our abysmal defense, my god is it ever atrocious. The whole team forgot how to play defense, clear the puck, block shots and shooting lanes.

Weber is even slower this season and when he can't keep up with the speed of the other team, he takes a bad penalty. It's the tell tale sign that a guy is finished.

Chiaort. Need I explain more?

Price, those softies, for the love of everything holy, close that 5 hole man!. It's like he gets bouts of bipolarism mid-game, one insane save that he had no business making, the next weak wrister from the blue line is a bullet he must dodge at all costs. Those red pads need to go ffs, he never does well with them. Not the time to be a fashionista on the ice, stick to white.

Finally, screw the refs. The phantom calls they make, not even bollywood had the guts to try and justify such f***ery.

Leafs play in Edmonton yet start at 7pm. Habs play in Winnipeg and start at 10pm. Yup we know who HNIC is catering to.

This is the 2nd time the Jets have had a 9pm start time in their own building this season....
The players hate it since it messes up game day routines.
I hate it because lounges are closed after the first period in MB due to covid restrictions.
