Don't you feel guys the Bruins season lies in the hands of Halak ? If he's great we go deep. Rask is great but come playoff time he lets in a softie and deflates the team and series. Halak might be more dependable . I hope I'm wrong but it seems it's heading that way. I think Cassidy and management will make a decision on rask after this year.
Seems to me people have forgotten how good Rask was last year.
Halak is less consistent than Rask is. He can be lights out but he can go in slumps too. You don't go 3 months without a regulation loss without being pretty darn consistent like Rask did last year.
Split the games roughly 50/30, roll into the playoffs with two fairly fresh guys.
Fact is, the last time we saw a goaltender run the table in the playoffs was Quick back in 2014. You need two decent goaltenders now, both playoffs and regular season, and you'll need two decent ones next year too.
I'm totally cool with seeing some of both Halak and Rask in the playoffs if it means the Bruins hoisting the cup.
Bruins teams did pretty decent around here with Cheevers/Gilbert and Moog/Lemelin.
Funny fact, the last 4 seasons, the goaltender of record in Game 1 of the 1st round series of ever Cup champion was not the same goaltender of record in the game where they won the cup.
