is this really what we are going with? Kreider cost the team the game?

no one is saying that.

if you read properly, it's talking about a come back or the chance at a come back.

apparently not reading properly is what we're going with here.

Bobrovsky was the best player on the ice tonight. Blue Jackets got the bounces on Foligno and Atkinson's first goal. Refs didn't like us a lot. They're crap but they're almost always crap.

There are games when things don't go your way. This was one of them.

Duclair had a really nice game. Brassard and Zucc need to get going. Stempniak had a very good game. Talbot-meh.

Kudos to Kreider for sticking up for his teammate.

The problem is that anyone with an opinion that what Kreider did was remotely wrong is just incorrect. Seeing it brought up in the ****ing PGT is just the epitome of

That loss is 100% on AV. We have to get it through our heads that Columbus is a big game.

A)You don't start your backup in big games.

B)His team was not prepared to play a big game.

Furthermore, I hate giving other teams 2 and half ****ing minutes to score into our empty net, but it's not as though Talbot was stopping anything anyway, so I digress.

The second game of the season on October 11th is not a big game. There's absolutely no reason for Henrik to play a back to back at this point. None.

We need a proper center and proper lines. Why sacrifice what we have to grasp at what we're trying to be? No Step, deal with it, stop with the faux-4 line crap when you don't have enough players to fill out four competent lines. Adapt to the ****ing situation and quit day dreaming.

Brassard line providing nothing is the biggest trouble spot so far. So far = 2 games though. Still, they need to pick it up or this team is gonna be in trouble.

If you read properly he said Kreiders decision cost the team a chance at the comeback.

So like I said, Kreiders decision was the reason they lost, his decision gave them no chance of winning.

Yup, his boneheaded decision cost the team chance at a comeback. He's more valuable on the ice than in the box.
So you want our guy to watch while teamates get hit by dirty players. It would be nice if talbot made a save or brassard show up after getting overpayed

Bluejackets came out like it was the ECF, we came out like it was scrimmage number one in training camp.

Started to get going but they got a lucky goal after we were pressing, bad break. Stepan's absence is very noticeable. Klein was serviceable but we really need Dan Boyle in that spot, badly.

Talbot was very shaky, and I'm not blaming him for the game, but he looks super shaky all game. 2 posts, 1 crossbar and a lot of plays where he was a beat behind. 1st goal was really bad. With Hank this game is 2-2 at least. Oh well, at least Hank has looked very sharp.

And I'm not blaming Talbot, being a back up goalie is a hard job and perhaps he played a bit over his head last season (he's not going to be a career 1.64 GAA .941 SV% goalie) and just needs to find his rhythm again.

Rangers just looked sloppy. Positioning defensively was bad, lots of guys trying to make blind passes and plays to teammates that weren't there, bad exit zone work, real bad. Lots of missed open passes, etc.

St Louis struggled more at center this game, didn't seem engaged and didn't seem comfortably in position.

Too many dumb penalties too, can't keep retaliating, though I thought the penalty on Glass was weak. Kreider can't take that instigator penalty though...can't take yourself out of the game like that when you're the teams top line winger. Doesn't matter if you're standing up for your teammate, you can't do that.

Duclair looked good, nice work. Miller also looked pretty decent, Stempniak was good. Nash was eh, ok, not as active as I'd like but once again penalties really seemed to kill the Rangers line deployment. Brass and Zucc were active without a lot to show for it. Hagelin continues to be pretty invisible offensively.

Talbot didn't look comfortable I thought

Nothing that can't be fixed, just some real sloppy play and like they weren't prepared to face a team that was going to pressure them a lot. Forwards gotta help the defense out more and give them passes, forwards gotta not get mixed up about what side of the ice they're on (Glass and Zuccarello on that 4th goal)

I think the St Louis experiment at center needs to end

****ing ugly all the way around minus Duclair. We knew we were going to have some games like this with Stepan out. Throw int he Boyle injury and Kreider in the box for 17 minutes due to the worst rule in NHL history, and you have that.

Take Hagelin off Brassard's line and give them Duclair. Take out Miller for a game to get his head on straight and send a message, let's see what Hayes has. Take out Glass, plug in Malone. We need him on the power play if Boyle is going to be out. PKing forwards will need to cheat towards him opening up an extra split second for the forward playing the point.

Kreider - MSL - Nash
Duclair - Brassard - Zuccarello
Hagelin - Hayes - Stempniak
Malone - Moore - Fast
Glass

Hopefully the team amps up for the home opener.

Season is a long time. Let's get it done

Get back soon, Stepan :(

Nothing redeeming about his game. Kid sucks plain and simple.

Give him time. How bout picking him apart after 10-12 games and not 2. As bad as he's been, he's still been better than Zucc and Brass.

Duclair and Stemps were the only bright spots.

Ranger couldn't win board battles, lost the puck way too easily, and couldn't match CBJ's effort. Even when the Jackets were being checked, they didn't give up on the play. The Rangers, not so much.

Most of the players on this team look disjointed and they aren't on the same page. That's acceptable for the newcomers, but for Zucc and Brass to look like that, well, that's a major problem.

Talbot's rebound control was crappy.

Hopefully the Rangers bounce back tomorrow night, but there are a lot of kinks to work out right now.
