Better performance vs better team. Looking at the shot totals, it's not quite a playoff worthy performance yet, but very happy that my eyes didnt hurt watching.

Gudbransson is easily the worst Dman in the current lineup. Nothing would raise Vincent stocks more than benching Gud and keeping both Jiricek and Boqvist in the lineup when Werenski returns.

Shots still most definitely matter. This team will lose 90% of the leads if they turtle and go -15 shots/period. Not a valid strategy to hold a lead.

Yeah, that was a really bad period but I don't believe it would've looked anything like that if they didn't have a 3 goal lead to begin it. I think Elvis having to leave the game also had an effect. Anyway goals for 3rd were 1-1 so it worked out fine... but while I'm sure they were OK with being outshot in the 3rd, I don't think the plan was to give up like 30 shot attemps while having like 2 yourself.

Its not but its amazing how often pretty much every team does it with a multi goal lead. You know teams will push so it would be cool of we had more of a counter punch game to make them pay for their aggression. Atleast Danforth got 1 that way I guess

I feel like teams mostly start doing it on last 5-10mins. Still not a fan of it, but it kinda makes sense at that point. Doing it for whole 20mins goes too far to be intentional in my eyes

But it's game 2 and Rangers are a contending team so it's not anything I'm losing my mind over. I just noted it and hope to see improvements at least against low- to midtable teams
