Still don't understand the Smid trade...

As an oiler fan, I am also confused by the deal. The team is saying the goalie they got is the key to the deal, but in talking with people who follow jr hockey and they are saying Laurent Brossoit will be a career ahl goalie-- oiler talking heads suggest he is their future number 1 goalie.

I believe now and in five year, this trade will be about the Oilers giving a player away
