Its funny how when the trade happened the narrative was that the habs traded a 30 goalscorer for a 9 goalscorer (despite the fact that galchenyuk hit 30 once a few years ago, and Domi hit 18 that same year), and now Domi is the once who is on pace for 30+ goals while Galchenyuk is on pace for about 9 goals

To be fair Galchenyuk has missed ten games because of injury. I still believe he was not brought along properly in Montreal and was skeptical about the trade but so far it has work out. Domi has slowed down some but overall I am happy with his play for sure.

it<s not that domi went down since 3 games, its the habs playing bad hockey recently.

Coyotes are the farm team for the Hawks, I expect Galchenyuk to be on the Hawks by the end of the year.
Domi has found his game, in the bright lights of Montreal.

Hard to say with complete certainty. Last year Habs were clear losers on the Drouin-Sergachev trade. This year Sergachev looks like a bottom pairing PP specialist and Drouin is having a near point-per-game season.
It could just be Domi finally found someone he has chemistry with, same to Drouin. Galchenyuk started the year injured and usually turns it on in February.

Arizona, like Columbus previously, seems to have a magic power to make people suck though. How many PPG players were 30-40 point guys in these places?

The trade is spectacular, I could definite agree I bashed on domi of how the stats looked terrible! But I can say I was wrong, complete player with full of heart! Kudos to Bergy for the trade, just no more mistakes from now on!

Can remember a time when Hab fans stated they wouldn't do Galchenyuk for Giroux..... Hehe, good times!

Domi's wrist is healed and he's become comfortable playing center. Those two things have made it a big, big win thus far for the Habs.

Trades aren't won after three months, especially when one of the players have been hurt for a third of that time and missed all of training camp.

"But who will score goals on MTL?!!", the 1-dimensional HF Habs fans said.

Montreal wasn't lacking guys that can shoot, they were lacking someone who could get them the puck at the right time. Domi's added some goals to boot. He also has more character and leadership in his toe than Galchenyuk has in his whole being.

You have to admit, on paper it was not a great deal for the Habs. Bergevin and his scouts obviously saw something in Domi that was not apparent in his stats. Or they got lucky - i am thinking the latter. At the time of the trade, Bergy stated that Domi would play wing (and Drouin center). I don't think Bergy foresaw Domi becoming a top-line centerman.
