Forbort has had 4 major penalties in his tenure with the Kings. I didn't think it'd be that many. I was also surprised at just how many games he's played with the Kings. Since Doughty's rookie year, Forbort has played the 7th-most games amongst Kings defensemen. The six defensemen above him show just how good this defense once was.

Kudos for Forbort stepping up. I was surprised. Here he is, his first game of the season and a conditioning assignment in the AHL knowing he going back to the NHL, and after Sodergran gets plastered on the boards up high, he dropped the gloves to defend his teammate. Stick tap.

Vilardi to me looks like he could still benefit from a good 30 game stretch in the minors before getting called up. He does have a presence on the ice though. He’ll get better every game. The timing will come back.

He just needs to take as long as he needs. If it’s 3 months or the rest of the season it doesn’t matter. His health has to come first, then development decisions 2nd.

That’s what I’ve been saying... I expect him to take off offensively in 2-3 weeks.. he should spend the year in Ontario and with some luck maybe he’ll be joined by Turcotte, Kaliyev, Dudas and Thomas! Along with what’s already there and hopefully they make the playoffs and have a deep run to build chemistry and create their own winning culture!
