Fitzpatrick is ranked for this years QMJHL he plays for the Newbridge Midget team (AKA Dartmouth Major Midget), he is 6'03/190.......has 9 wins and 3 losses so far with 4 shutouts.....1.56 goals against and .949 save percentage.

All my years scouting in the QMJHL and this guy i would have to say is easily the best goaltender I have watched in over a decade. his size and IQ in the net are just really great to watch, amazing positioning, great rebound control, excellent reflexes, and is a big game goalie who makes amazing saves to keep his team in the game...I personally think this guy could be the best since Roberto Luongo.

I approve the avatar change ;)

He's definitely something special. Should be interesting to see how high he goes in the draft considering how goalies have dropped in recent years. On top of him being a goalie, he's not from Quebec so he may drop more than others have lol

lol ya Getson was not doing it for me anymore, he is still a 1st rounder but i find he is falling a bit......Fitzpatrick I would like to see go as high as 2nd overall, but goalies have been falling, but if a team does not pick him early they are going to miss out on a franchise big name future goalie...I personally have him going 2nd overall and if you can believe it I would not hesitate to put him 1st overall. Balmas is still great though.

I can believe it because he's proven impossible to score on lol but I would believe it more if we got a chance to see him at U17s this year. It's a shame he didn't get the opportunity, he definitely could have competed at that level.

I just hope he goes to a Maritimes team, I want to see him play more than twice a year

i would love to see him go to a maritime team as well...EXCEPT Bathurst, I do not like how they develop talent, they are doing another poor job with Mason McDonald.

For me he is on par where Mason McDonald was athletically and technically, no better, no worse. I can see him going very high in this years Q draft, but im reserved about the next level until we see where and how he develops. If history repeats, he will be picked up later in the first or start of the second round.

PS - Avatar Change approved :) I think there have been a few surprises this season so far in Midget ...

If you could pick a team for him to go to, who would it be / which goalie best to Mentor him ? ( or does he even need a Mentor )

I would like to say Moose so i can see him play more lol. learn from Fucale, I personally see him a lot better than Mason and I am a big Mason fan, again Bathurst might be the worst developing team in sports.

Would be a heck of a trade if the Moose were to trade into the first round to scoop him up. Might not be any prospect left ;)

Is there a list online that shows what current 2014 picks each team has? so many trades happen its hard to know what teams have what picks.

But it's not even accurate :(

CB has the 5th overall pick from Nicolas Roy not reporting. They have the Baie-Comeau 1st for 2014 via the Roy trade as well. Not to mention the 15 & 16 1st rounders from Chicoutimi.

Scoutman ... I respectfully disagree with your view of Getson's play lately. He played well at Monctonian in a game against Moncton in particular and the prospect game. I just watched him play this weekend against Halifax and he was dominant. Playing a a complete 200 foot game and was a pure power forward creating a ton of chances. His production has dropped lately but not from lack of chances. I too think Balmas is a great player but he did not have a great Monctonian. Getson, Balmas and Fitzpatrick will all be first rounders and deserving of it. I think all three will be in the top 10 overall. All great prospects and whichever team gets them, they will have selected a very good player that will have an impact with their club. Like you, I have watched these three play for a couple of years and have seen what they can do. A couple of so-so weeks from either one of them would not deter me from taking them high in the first round. They are solid blue chip prospects. Good crop for Nova Scotia prospects this year.

Agreed on Bathurst. They are not winning anything this season as they will probably end up 14-16th overall and yet they keep playing an OA goalie over the best 1996 goalie in the league... Senseless.

I can see why teams are reluctant to spend a very high pick on a goalie. I'd be reluctant to invest a top-5 or even top-10 pick on a goaltender though if you hit on an elite one, you are basically getting four years guaranteed as opposed to an elite forward who can graduate to the NHL at 18 or 19. No doubt Halifax is pleased with Fucale.

If he is as good as he seems, I doubt he makes it to a Maritimes team unless Cape Breton gives up on Bureau/Marchand). Victoriaville (its own pick and Moncton's) and Gatineau (Chicoutimi's pick and Charlottetown's pick) should both have two top-9 picks in the upcoming Q draft. Victoriaville will need to replace Whitney (though they drafted Povall last year) whereas Gatineau will only have Brodeur coming back as a 19 year old.

There should be some movement at the trade period where the maritime teams are able to get more picks in the top of the draft. I find it hard to believe Gatineau will have both of those picks after the trade period.

Looks like this is his stance. I approve of it completely. Seems to be an Allaire type stance. Wide feet and holding the glove high. I imagine he has a hard knee drive as well and barely gets beats 5-hole?

Use your fingers and figure it out yourself...

Fitzpatrick is a top prospect in the Q and just went 4th overall so clearly scoutman isn't the only one who thinks this kid has big potential.

Somebody once said Anthony had the potential to be the best Nova Scotian prospect since Crosby. But people hear what they want to hear I guess.
