Paywall. Despite the three years, less a bit, before expiration, the two sides are meeting again this week. Perhaps extension will be announced in a couple of months .

VGK's Schmidt (suspended for 20 games due to PED testing at a level so low it couldn't provide any performance enhancement) is working with NHLPA to review testing standards as part of CBA negotiations.

I always love how every article fawns over how "low" the testing level was. It had probably been 6-9 months since Schmidt was previously tested. How high were the levels of the PED in his system in those months before his training camp test?

Per ESPN article, looking at hair (which stores trace elements and can show history of doping), there was no history.

The assumption is that the PED was introduced by "tainted meat".

(Way OT to follow the history of food handling and cycle from farmer to table. But lots of places may cut corners and not get the certified organic, or known source on meat or whatever. Not to mention the impact of GMOs.)

HNIC Saturday headlines included blurb that NHL and NHLPA continue to negotiate new deal.

Perhaps something done in "months".
