Checking Brad Richardson's stats, should we be concerned that this guy only played 16 games for LA last year and looks like he was a scratch other years as well?
Gillis is gambling that he will rejuvenate his career as he was good in 2009-2010. Seems like a big roll of the dice.

Nope they told Richardson they were signing him to play center.

Then throw Schroeder on the wing, or Gaunce up with Richardson. I'd be willing to be as Richardson is not exactly a FO specialist, they partner him with another guy who can take FOs (not that Schroeder was good, but a young C can improve that area).

I don't get the angst in losing Lapierre. In fact, I'm pretty pleased about it. Lapierre had a brutal year, and the Canucks might have been eager to shed one of their "reputation" players.

Replacing Lapierre with Richardson is, at worst, a lateral move.

Yes we should be concerned, especially if the Canucks are actually considering him as the 3rd line C.

But we shouldn't be surprised. Keeping Luongo over Schneider and Booth hanging around made it basically impossible to clear any room for upgrades (or even to tread water) through UFA signings.

Hell, with that lineup I probably won't get the centre ice package and will try to miss some games...I need to get out more anyway.
