Kind of my point. None of the people left are going to deliver as a backup. In a non salary cap world, I would do everything to get Grubs back. Personally, I doubt Lundqvist plays another NHL game.

What’s the scouting report in Fucale these days. Obviously not 2021 ready but curious if he projects as an eventual 2G

IMO, Fucale is a solid minor league goalie who could be called upon in an emergency. He's played well in the ECHL and in his 11 games with Hershey last year. He doesn't seem to project to a 1B or 2 in the NHL

Copley isn't young. Dude is 29. We know what he is at this point, an average-ish AHL starter who can pinch hit as an NHL back-up if you have a workhorse #1. Samsonov has never played more than 37 games in a season. I'm not about to trust Copley to start 35 games for the Capitals

I would lean towards Fucale over Copley if they do go internal, with Hank as the other option if he's cleared

It is hard to take management seriously if they say they want to put a team around Ovi/Backy that can compete and roll that goaltending duo out.

"We're not going to be suck this year"
