In his article on Weegar GR mentioned that Borg might stay in Finland depending on injury...might be a good thing for us frankly. Let him rebuild confidence and strength especially with how deep our bottom 6 is.

if that happens we will have about 5.5-6.5M for one more plate

If tippett, Denisenko, and let’s assume a league minimum 700k player make up 3 of the remaining 4 spots. I believe we’d have 5.8mil left in cap space

Still have 11 Million left......
I think it’s 8.3mil
I don’t understand the difference on CapFriendly between projected cap space of 8.3 and current cap space of 11, but I believe 8.3 is the real number when you add it all up?

It says projected is for the end of the regular season. So I think it is 11?

So I haven’t run it: if we sign someone else, one of those low cost players won’t make it so I believe that’s how I got to an upper bound ofn 6.5

Look at what Hoffy liked? I’m kind of optimistic. Give him a one year 5.5 or maybe a 2 year 6M that’s super backloaded so it isn’t eaten by escrow

What ya think he will sign for with both term and AAV?

What would you be targeting in a trade?

we know the answer to the 1st one and I have no idea for the 2nd. Hopefully sign Hoffman or trade to get someone that can fill the role? Maybe improve the blue line a little by trading Stralman for someone a little younger/faster? I feel somewhat confident that Zito has it in him to make it happen.

Might be interisting where we tendencie to go, i think the 2 most discussed Players on Florida, will be Hoffman and Duclair who appears quiet often in the Florida rumour corner.
And can we afford Hoffman, with Saarela still in Finnland. Saarela is official not re-signed with the Panthers, so we loose another 1,3-2,0 On Saarela. What bring us down to 6 Million and then you decide you wanna have space in your gap controll or not. Will be much more interisting, where it goes on from here.

I was reading the second quote. Did his fiance and him really break up?

I thought when he got here it would take no time at all for him to find the South Beach babe. Or one would sniff him out

No way in heck that Saarela makes more than a million: he hasn’t shown much more in potential, environment is depressed, no outside options, and Zito is an insane negotiator: Wallmark only got 950K and has shown more

Anyways I was thinking: a super cool like could be Hoffman-Wennberg-Tippett. The defense there is suspect but it’s a great passer and two grade A shots

Saarland received a qualifying offer from the Panthers.
His average salary last year was 902K, so I would expect his QO is between 950K to 1.0m.

Iirc qualifying offer is set by base salary and does not include bonuses. (AS had both signing and performance bonuses in his contract ) Saarela’s base salary was 750K so his QO would 1.05 times that
