So Seney is better than Hughes? I never would have guessed it.

You are all going to miss Seney when he hits free agency after this season and follows Jacob MacDonald to greener pastures.

He will be the next very shrewd signing by Dale Tallon and go on to score 60 points per year there with a very strong team in Florida, along with the best coach in the game. It figures that the only two good forwards that Conte left us with last decade were tossed away by Shero/Fitz. Kerfoot being the first one. And don’t get me started on Jake MacDonald. Thanks again Ray.

The REAL question is, if we DO lose Seney, do we lose QuestForStanley too?

We’ll lose Seney very soon. Have to also worry about the NYb signing him. Lou was still here for that draft and no doubt knows that he and Conte picked a winner with one of their last ever picks for the organization. And then there’s the Rags to worry about too. Gorton and JD have done an outstanding job at rebuilding them and turning them into a contender overnight. You have to believe they’d love to poach another NJD gem like the Rags have done so many times before.

That would be a hell of a steal for the Rags, who already bested us in the 2019 draft by picking Kakko when we could have had him first. Just another stain on the organization.

Not sure why people aren't more impressed with Seney in all honesty.

99 AHL games - 71 points (.717 PPG)
53 NHL games, all under horrific circumstances and 13 points (ATOI - 10:19) - Essentially identical production to Joey Anderson in the NHL 52 games and 13 points (ATOI - 13:01).

He is a bit older being a 4 year college player so perhaps the increased production should be somewhat expected but he is producing and has been since starting a pro career...that is something in my opinion. Not too many other prospects at the Pro level with nearly as impressive production(except for Anderson who has similar AHL stats 40 points in 57 games .701 PPG but is 2 years younger... 2 years, 3 months and 22 days if you want to be specific :) ).

Brett Seney has led his team in points 5 of his last 6 seasons. Four in a row at Merrimack and this season led Bingo in goals and points.

He's a small, relatively undisciplined player penalty-wise that has more talented small forwards and undisciplined players ahead of him

Devils should do him a favor and include him in any deal they make this off-season. I do think he could be a productive, feisty forward if given the chance. Would likely do him best to hitch onto a bigger, more physical team like the Blues or Blue Jackets where he can be protected and use his speed and feistiness to his advantage.

Problem for the Devils is playing him with Bratt, Hughes, and Gusev will cause issues with their size and with Wood and Palmieri they play the same wrecking ball game. Finding a spot for him becomes difficult.
