Mermis was a great pick up. Arizona didnt appreciate his talents and the Devils picked him up for Free. Dakota has NHL game for sure and when given the opportunity he was one of New Jersey’s best defensemen. I’d take him over Subban. As for MacDonald the AHL brass believe he’s better than Dakota, selecting him top 4 in the league. Selected over Dakota and another 180+ Defensemen. The Devils could’ve had both.

Mermis contributed at least as much as Subban in the 10 NHL games he played.

Mermis- 10 games, 1 goal, 3 assists (.4 ppg)
- FREE agent signing
- $700,000 salary

P.K. Subban- 68 games, 7 goals, 11 assists (.26 ppg).
- acquired for Santini, Davies & 2 second round draft picks
- $10,000,000 salary

Keep laughing! Keep losing!

Morgan Geekie is the greatest player of all time with a point per game even better than McDavid and gretzky.

See I can make dumb claims too if you ignore SAMPLE SIZE.

We are done here.

Agreeing with Triumph. Mermis was impressive and showed he belongs in the NHL.

Unfortunately for Mermis, he doesn’t control the sample size. He doesn’t get the call up if Butcher stayed healthy.

In the 10 games he played, he showed better than several regular Devil Defensmen....including Subban IMO. Not meant to be a knock against Subban (he’s still one of the best in the league according to P.K.) but high praise for Mermis.
