I knew he couldn't be claimed, but I also assumed if we were going to send him down for cap purposes it would have had to been done today to get the roster in by the deadline. Also, does the NHL have some type of silly rule where if you send someone down that they actually have to report to the minor league team, or is that just baseball?

Since they don't have to go on Waivers, I don't think Hextall has to put anybody on it today. Anybody who is waiver exempt can just be assigned to the Phantoms by 5pm Tuesday.

Hextall could also be trying to trade somebody as well. We won't know until tomorrow.
