Provorov's IQ must be off the charts negatively wise if he thinks MacDonald was a good partner. I hope that is the most status quo answer he has ever given in his life.

Option 1: Provorov thinks MacD is a terrible partner. He'd be a bad teammate to publicly complain about it. He'd be a dummy to ruin a personal relationship with his likely defensive partner for the next year. And he'd be disrespectful (as a rookie) to question his coaches decision.

Option 2. Provorov thinks MacD was a good partner. For whatever reason. Maybe it's the same reasons PK Subban loved playing with Markov - because the guy taught him things on and off the ice. Maybe MacD's wife/mother makes a mean borscht. If Provorov actually likes playing with MacDonald, it's not a terrible thing.
