Giving up a 4th and a scrub prospect for Carter is better than giving up a 1st and a 3rd for Pageau.

Morgan Frost would be a fair return

I'd take Carter if:

1) LA retains
2) We trade nearly nothing in assets
3) Carter agrees to retire at the end of the season

Ya'll did Vinny dirty with that, I sure hope Carter's career doesnt end that way too. He's still got it, likely another 20 goal season here

Planning or 50% retention 20-21 and 21-22 as well? 5.25 m is brutal.

Yes, LA is in the middle of a rebuild with plenty of cap and no major RFA's to sign over the next couple years. LA could easily eat half that cap.

If carter 3m for 2+ years I still wouldn't want but say if was 3 and b+ prospect I can at least tolerate when he goes full Vinny Lecavilier. People asking for Ratcliffe or Frost NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

no chance....would like Brink from the Flyers though. I wanted LA to take him and Kaliyev with their late first and early second.

Carter and Kaliyev for Patrick and Allison?
