I'll go back to vinny/schenn trade. Flyers got back 3 and jordan weal. To get carter some off the books its a 3 and suspect from Flyers not prospect.

1) Vinny agreed to retire
2) there was no cap-recapture penalty for him retiring there is on Carter
3) vinny was beat up and ready to retire...that's not the case with Carter

yup, he will be good to help shelter the youth and only cost $2M a year in real money. Would be pretty bad on LA's part to even think of buying him out.

Carter is an asset to the Kings. He maybe not be to all teams given his age and contract. I get that, but he still is playing good hockey.

Is Patrick good, though ? Health wise ?

With Patrick's injury history, I'd consider him just a bonus player whenever he's able to play, but I wouldn't plan around him long-term.

The Flyers can't take on more than 2 million without trading away someone else with cap hit like a Laughton/Raffl and replacing them with a cheaper player.
