Now I'm really glad they went on that run and only got the 11th pick.

If they had picked at 8 and taken Morin ahead of Ristolainen I would have been really pissed off.

Well that at least makes me glad that if Dallas passed on Nichushkin then we probably would have taken him.

Pulock 16 (It may be Mantha, and blurred on last letter, but it does seem the last letter is 'high' ie k, l, h etc)
Rychel 17
Shinkaruk 22
McCarron 23
Dickinson 29
Zykov 31

I am pretty sure on those. Tried narrowing them down and couldn't see any other person being those shapes of words, individual letters etc.

I also think Bigras could be at 18... I know it is early, but I can't see any other name fitting that shape.

Gauthier may be 21 as well.

I suspect we'll get a better look when the first webisode airs on Tuesday.

I remember on the "Oil Change" they had a scene like this & they blurred out their board as well as all the guys laptops in the room.

I don't know if the Flyers didn't bother doing it because they figured no one would go out all trying to decipher it with a couple of second clip or what?

So it appears the top 5 BPA on the Flyers list at 11 were:

8) Morin
9) Mueller
11) Morrissey
13) Wennberg
15) Lazar

My top 5 BPA were:

7) Domi
8) Wennberg
10) Morrissey
11) Hartman
12) Hagg

Needless to say, I was stoked when they nabbed Hagg at 41.

Certainty not a lot of technology happening in that meeting, huh? I see a couple of Think Pads and hand written rankings, haha.

Well thank god Risto was gone BC I would have been furious if they took Morin over him.

I see Ristolainen at #6. EDIT: And Nichushkin at #4. So we would have likely ended up with Nichushkin if we found our way into the top 10.

It would have been pretty cool to have Nichushkin along with Giroux and Voracek. Our forward core would have been insane.

possible brainstorming meeting so easier done with a pen and paper.

My wife, at her 350-student elementary school, has a Smart Board in her classroom. You can write on it, bring up and manipulate stored documents, access the Internet, etc. One would think a multimillion dollar franchise would make use of something like this rather than the $10 big pads from Staples.

But I guess Holmgren and his group are just old school, which is fine if this is what they are comfortable with.

I don't think the lack of technology has anything to do with anything. It's just easier some times to use the 'ol pen and paper. I'm sure some of the staff had their laptops open to scouting reports, etc. on a certain players. The last thing you want to do is have a computer crash or make a mistake on the computer during the draft at crunch time. I imagine many, if not all, of the teams roll the same way during the draft.

By the looks of it, it seems that the room was a hotel conference room. THey probably all met up in new jersey.

Kind of stings actually. So close to a top 5 talent.

Hartnell - Giroux - Nichushkin
Schenn - Lecavalier - Voracek
Simmonds - Couturier - Read

What really stings is that we were 3rd last at one point, if we'd just tanked and stayed there or even 4th last, we'd have had the choice of Jones or Nichuskin....

Not tanking really hurt, as good as Morin's going to be three years from now, it would be nice to roll out Jones on D this year....

YIKES

Am I the only person who sees the potential of Nichushkin's talent being wasted on more Russian dramatics?

I mean, there is literally no evidence to support Nichushkin would turn into a Kovalchuk or a Zherdev or a Filatov or a Bryzgalov, but...you know...I'd just rather not get involved at this point.
