You're right Tkachuk is worth Laine, but Laine is not worth Tkachuk, and it's not even close. The only player from that draft class that anyone that knows a single thing about about hockey would consider trading Tkachuk for is Matthews.

SOmeone suggested Stone and several people scoffed and said it wasn't allowed, but it was pointed out by someone (mouser, I think?) that it was only compliance buyouts where you could not re-acquire the player within a calendar year.

I think it's great. We know he is a good fit in the room. I think Tre gave him a chance to find another gig for more money and when he couldn't he stayed where he wanted to play.
