I think they will rally behind Semin and go out there hard to win. Brouwer has no class. I was also hoping Neuvirth was playing because of his trash talk over the summer as well. I can't recall Semin ever trash talking anyone throughout the bashing he took. Show it on the ice and beat these guys good. I hope Semin plays well (great time for his scoring luck to change) and the whole team comes out flying and takes the two points. After last game and the added incentive of playing hard for their teammate, they will probably be pumped. I bet Oates has them go out there and hit Semin every chance they get. Let them take the penalties and fill the net. Best way to shut them up.

Not everyone in a Caps uniform thinks badly of Semin.

We asked Ovechkin about Semin before Brouwer spoke. Said he's having dinner with Sasha tonight

If Ovi gets traded, wonder what Brouwer will say about Ovi.

He'll arguably be the Caps best winger, so I imagine he will have some choice words for such an occasion.

"Ovi was leading us nowhere. He was more interested in being a celebrity than a hockey player. Good, hardworking Canadians deserve to play on teams that aren't brought down by him. He's classless."

"Troy, are you aware that you're team is currently out of 29th place by 11 points?"

I surely hope they're not on a pairing together. That'd be entertaining/a complete disaster.

If they do a Gragnani-for-Jordan swap on the roster, then as of last night's game it would be:

Corvo-Faulk
Harrison-Sanguinetti
Gragnani-Murphy

With Murphy getting PP and maybe some PK time.

Hopefully Semin will remember there is a game tomorrow, because Troy Brouwer said sometimes he didn't know if Semin would remember.

And hopefully, Semin will do to Washington what he did to us for so many games.

My favorite line from Sasha's CH.com bio reads, "[H]is...favorite team to play against was Carolina."

I lol every time I think of it. Evidently he had no 2nd favorite.

I've been to a number of games this year and watched the rest. My personal opinion: watching Semin in the post-goal huddles, on the bench, etc. - dude it working hard, enjoying his time here, and being a damn good teammate. There have been more than a few times when he just looked REALLY, really happy, almost overwhelmed at the synergy he's got with the team so far. Some huddles wher you can almost FEEL the satisfaction, excitement, all of that. Yes, I may be overreading things, but that's my view - I think he's happy and I think the team is happy with him.

Out of curiosity, can you comment on the personal synergy between Eric Staal and Skinner?
