Since all the Oil fans are so dismissive of lil Paul Byron, I'd like to nominate Byron as well. Look McDavid is twice, no maybe 10 times the player Byron is but that doesn't make him better in every respect.

I remember seeing Paul Kariya skate down the ice like he was shot out of cannon and stop on a dime all while handing the puck.

Yeah, he was fine. But if he dared to hold a candle to Bure, Russian Rocket would blow it off.

McDavid is in a tier above obviously.

Caps have several top end speed guys, but I think this would be a good category for Kuznetsov. Not the fastest guy out there, but seems to glide past people with the puck on his stick. He’s got a good sense of positioning himself in relation to the puck and defender that allows him to keep stride while the defender loses ground.

I can't claim he's the fastest in the league, but I'm curious how many of the "big names" he would beat without the average hockey fan having any idea...
