Whats next years rookie class look like? He might have a decent shot at the calder if he plays. If he scores 20 goals and 50 points (which I could see) and no otherrookies really tear up. Its tough for dmen to get noticed as a rookie compared to a winger.

I would bet on Svechnikov or Pettersson (if he makes Vancouver??) but Zadina is a decent somewhat dark horse I would think

I have a really hard time seeing him out-produce Svechnikov. Svech will probably also get a bigger role this season.

Same here. But injuries happen and so do cold streaks. I think it would take an injury for him to beat Svechnikov, so thats why I said hes a darkhorse. Svech is my odds on favourite to win it next year

Yeah what i said about dmen having a harder time winning was directed at Dahlin. Would i be surprised if he won? Not at all, but its harder to stick out as a young D.

He’s not very weak. He’s almost 200 lbs and he’ll have all summer to hit the gym
he is pretty weak! no knock on him he's a steal at 6. i'm the guy who keeps bringing he can't win a single battle against board vs 16-21 year old from the Q, been saying it for almost 3 month straight. when there was rumor about Montreal interrested in him i watched a 3hours Shift by shift my eyes not missing a second. he does not make people around him better, he's the pure definition of a complimentary winger, But he's wrist shot... elite NHL ready in power and accuracy! Give him a Good center and a guy who works hard to retreive puck and feed him and he'll do just fine!

It's strange, he was pretty good along the boards at the WJC.

where will he play next season?

The Wings have petitioned the NHL to make him AHL eligible is the latest we have heard in Detroit.

I also wonder if Europe is an option. They seem to want him to play in a Men's league next year. Of course that is if he doesn't make the team outright anyway.
