LFC through to R16 with a game to spare. Took care of business and clinched 1st in group. Don’t think anyone got hurt, Bradley came back so maybe they actually have a backup right back now, but either way did what needed to be done.

Not having to get any points during MW6; before the Man Utd, WHU (Carabao), @ Arsenal run before Boxing Day is probably going to be a good thing

Kelleher looked dialed in. Going to need him in good form while Alisson is injured; best case scenario has Alisson back for Utd on the 17th; 2-3 week time table at least. Diogo Jota probably not back until 2024

All french teams through tonight. OM will fight Brighton for 1st place (lots of regrets from the first game they should have won), Toulouse will be second to Liverpool and Rennes won their group in front of Villareal.
Lille also won their Conference league group.

As long as we beat Real and Braga doesn't beat Napoli, all German teams will be through to the knockout stages in some European competition...easy enough...

Then and there
As there were no spectators allowed, the funniest part of the Maccabi Haifa - Rennes match today was that all the security personnel were positioned in the middle of stands, facing away from the pitch and staring into emptiness.

Lol, were they literally contractually not allowed to watch the match, or why was that.

Going into the final matchday

A: West Ham and Freiburg already advanced, they play each other in London on the final MD with Freiburg needing to win to win the group; Olympiakos only need a draw to finish 3rd (drop to the Conference league) while TSC must win in Athens

B: Marseille and Brighton advance, they play each other in Brighton on the final MD, Brighton must win to top the group; AEK go to Ajax only needing a draw to finish 3rd, Ajax must win

C: Real Betis (9), Rangers (8), Sparta (7)...Betis host Rangers knowing a win will be enough to top the group, a draw will be ok to progress. Rangers will probably need a result regardless as Sparta have an "easier" game on paper away at Aris. Aris Limassol can only finish third but must beat Sparta at homr

D: Atalanta and Sporting advance, Atalanta only need a point to win the group (go to Rakow), Sporting must win to win the group and hope Atalanta loses. Strum and Rakow fighting for 3rd, right now equal on points, equal on H2H, so it will probably come down to goal difference if results go to plan

E: Liverpool win the group; Toulouse and Union SG fighting for 2nd, Toulose go to Linz only needing a draw, Union SG must beat Liverpool at home and hope for some help. LASK Linz still alive for 3rd place

F: Rennes and Villarreal progress; Rennes only need a point at home to Villarreal to win the group, Villarreal must win by any scoreline; Panathinaikos host Haifa only needing a point

G: This group is largely settled, Slavia and Roma progress with Slavia only needing a point to win the group at home to Servette. Servette confirmed third place finishers

H: Bayer Leverkusen, the lone team with a 100% record win the group; Qarabag and Molde fighting for 2nd spot, Qarabag have the better H2H so they must at least match Moldes's result. Qarabag host already eliminated Hacken

Can Union SG still qualify or is the Liverpool match a complete dead rubber?
They can. They need Toulouse Toulouse (get it?) and to beat Liverpool. Then they need to either overturn a two goal difference (so, Toulouse loses by 2+ or USG wins by 2+) or, if each game is a one goal game, score at least 4 more goals than Toulouse does.

Group A
Freiburg & Westham are through, Freiburg has to win to take 1st. Olympiakos would have to lose by 4+ goals to drop to 4th.

Group B
Marseille & Brighton are through, Brighton has to win to take 1st. Ajax can still get third with a win, otherwise AEK will play in the conference league.

Group C
Every spot is up for grabs.
- Betis advance in first with a win. If they draw, Sparta can drop them to 2nd with a 3+ goal win. If they lose, any Sparta win knocks them down to the conference league.
- Rangers advance in 1st with a win, and in 2nd with any other result if Sparta doesn't win.
- Sparta needs a win to advance, anything less leaves them in the conference league.
- Limassol can't advance in the EL but can still get 3rd with a big (>2 goal) win.

Group D
Atalanta & Sporting are locked into 1st and 2nd b/c Atalanta owns the H2H tiebreaker. Graz & Rakow are both on 4pts and they drew the H2H tiebreaker, so if they end up tied it'll come down to GD, where Graz has a 1 goal advantage

Group E
Liverpool are locked into 1st but Union can still jump into 2nd if they win and Toulouse loses. Union is currently -4 and Toulouse is -2. LASK can still jump Union for 3rd if they win & Union loses, or with a LASK multi-goal win and Union draw.

Group F
Rennes and Villarreal are both through, but every spot is still contested. Villarreal can take first with a win and Haifa can jump into 3rd if they beat Panathinaikos.

Group G
Prague & Roma are through, but who goes through 1st is still up in the air. Roma are 2pts and +4GD back.

Group H
Leverkusen are locked into 1st, but 2nd is still open as both Molde & Qarabag are on 7pts...Qarabag has the H2H and easier final match.

Arguably the biggest game in Brighton club history today.

A win puts us top and gives us some breathing room with the fixture schedule coming up.

Both West Ham and Freiburg going with their strongest 11 tonight, they both want to win and avoid whoever's dropping from Champions League.

West Ham have scored some nice goals. Freiburg have kept them pretty quiet outside of those two scenes & a third that was offsides, but they haven't generated enough themselves and those goals were too easy.

SCF will need to step up in the second half to turn this around.

And Paqueta’s crossbar. Freiburg have been bad. But they were bad in the first half in Germany too.

Damn, yesterday Antwerp beating Barça and now Union with the win against Liverpool. I know both clubs rested guys but still thats an amazing week.
Too bad for Union that LASK lost to Toulouse but hey now they might go on a nice Conf. League run.
Also if Amoura continues to play like this he might be the new Boniface.
